Velocity-Sensitive Pads
Like an acoustic drum kit, this digital drum set responds to the drummer’s playing intensity. As the strike gets harder, not only the volume changes, but the sound evolves just like on an acoustic drum. All “acoustic” sounds feature two sample layers, so for example the attack of a tom increases with volume. The hi-hat sounds even have 3 layers (closed, half-open, and open). All cymbal pads have a “cymbal choke” function: you can mute the sound immediately after striking by hand.
Mesh Heads
These special woven heads are ideal for e-drums and provide an extremely authentic response. Compared to conventional rubber pads, mesh heads deliver an unmatched playing feel and realistic rebound. The trigger signal is optimally transmitted to the sound module, enabling nuanced, accented playing. The XDrum DD-460 offers three tom pads and one snare pad, each with an 8-inch diameter.
Module Features
A total of 25 preset kits give you a quick and practical selection of sounds covering everything from rock/pop to percussion and electronic tones. The metronome helps you lock in your timing while the built-in songs let you unleash your emotions. If the onboard songs don’t suit your taste, you can connect your smartphone or tablet to the module via the aux input and play along to your personal mix.
Special Features of the DD-460P
Unlike the 460C, the 460P includes a kick pad with pedal that can be customized to your needs. With an optional double pedal, thunderous double bass drumming is no problem. The snare pad offers two distinct sounds (head and rim), and the hoop even has a rubber ring to protect your sticks. Additionally, the snare pad is mounted on an L-rod with an extra joint, making it easier to position. All cymbal pads can be muted by hand.

The pads can be struck nicely, for the price the size is also ok. The cymbals and HiHat work perfectly, stop function also.
The HiHat pedal is a bit sensitive, maybe I can still adjust that.
What I find bad, however, are the sounds. No matter which of the 25 kits, somehow I find none of them harmonious, compared to my acoustic set and the reverb destroys a lot. Since a 5 year old e-kit of a competitor in the same price range had more to offer. Well, I have to switch to midi.
Bottom line, a useful kit for the price, the sounds are just a matter of taste.
