Small Footprint, Huge Sound!
Why shouldn't beginners demand quality too? The DD-460 from XDrum packs high-quality multi-layer sounds, mesh-headed pads and cymbals with choke function — all in an ultra-compact setup.
Velocity-Sensitive Pads
Like an acoustic kit, the electronic drum responds to the drummer's hit strength. As you hit harder, not only does the volume change, but the sound changes as well, just like on an acoustic drum. All "acoustic" sounds feature two sample layers, so a tom's attack increases with volume. The hi-hat sounds even have three layers (closed, half-open and open). All cymbal pads include a "cymbal choke" function: you can stop the sound immediately with your hand after striking.
Mesh Heads
The special woven heads are ideal for e-drums and deliver an extremely authentic response. Compared with conventional rubber pads, mesh heads provide an unmatched playing feel and realistic rebound. The trigger signal is transmitted optimally to the sound module, enabling nuanced, expressive playing. The XDrum DD-460 gives you three 8" tom pads and one 8" snare pad.
Module Functions
A total of 30 preset kits give you a quick, useful selection of sounds covering everything from rock and pop to percussion and electronic tones. Each of the 30 drum kits can be individually tailored to your needs. The metronome helps you lock in your timing while the built-in songs let you play with feeling. If the onboard songs aren't to your taste, connect your smartphone or tablet to the module via the Aux In and play along to your own personal mix.
Special Features of the DD-460P
Unlike the 460C, the 460P features a kick pad paired with a bass drum pedal that can be adjusted to your preferences. With an optional double bass pedal, thunderous double-bass drumming is no problem. The snare pad offers two distinct sounds (head and rim), and the hoop even has a rubber ring to protect your sticks. The snare pad is mounted on an L-rod with an extra joint for easier positioning. All cymbal pads can be choked by hand.

The pads can be struck nicely, for the price the size is also ok. The cymbals and HiHat work perfectly, stop function also.
The HiHat pedal is a bit sensitive, maybe I can still adjust that.
What I find bad, however, are the sounds. No matter which of the 25 kits, somehow I find none of them harmonious, compared to my acoustic set and the reverb destroys a lot. Since a 5 year old e-kit of a competitor in the same price range had more to offer. Well, I have to switch to midi.
Bottom line, a useful kit for the price, the sounds are just a matter of taste.
