Small Footprint, Big Sound Fun!
Why shouldn't beginners also demand quality? The XDrum DD-460 offers high-quality multi-layer sounds, pads with mesh heads, cymbals with choke function — all in a very compact package.
Velocity-Sensitive Pads
Like an acoustic drum kit, the electronic drum responds to the drummer's stroke intensity. As the hit gets stronger not only the volume changes but—similar to an acoustic kit—the sound changes too. All "acoustic" sounds have two sample layers, so, for example, the attack of a tom increases with volume. The hi-hat sounds even have 3 layers (closed, half-open and open). All cymbal pads feature a "cymbal choke" function: you can stop the sound immediately with your hand after striking.
Mesh Heads
The special woven heads are ideal for e-drums and offer an extremely authentic response. Compared to conventional rubber pads, mesh heads deliver an unmatched playing feel and realistic rebound. The trigger signal is transmitted optimally to the sound module and ensures a nuanced, articulate performance. On the XDrum DD-460 you have three tom pads and one snare pad, each with an 8" diameter.
Module Functions
A total of 30 predefined kits give you a quick and sensible selection of sounds, letting you cover everything from rock/pop to percussion and electronic sounds. Each of these 30 drum kits can be customized to your needs. The metronome helps you solidify your timing, while the built-in songs let you play with feeling. If the onboard songs don't suit your taste, you can connect your smartphone or tablet to the module via the Aux input and play along to your own personal mix.
Special Features of the DD-460P
Unlike the 460C, the 460P features a kick pad with a kick pedal that can be adjusted to your preferences. With an optional double pedal, thunderous double-bass drumming is no obstacle. The snare pad offers two different sounds (head and rim), and the hoop even includes a rubber ring to protect your sticks. In addition, the snare pad is mounted on an L-rod with an extra joint, making the pad easier to position. All cymbal pads can be muted by hand.

The pads can be struck nicely, for the price the size is also ok. The cymbals and HiHat work perfectly, stop function also.
The HiHat pedal is a bit sensitive, maybe I can still adjust that.
What I find bad, however, are the sounds. No matter which of the 25 kits, somehow I find none of them harmonious, compared to my acoustic set and the reverb destroys a lot. Since a 5 year old e-kit of a competitor in the same price range had more to offer. Well, I have to switch to midi.
Bottom line, a useful kit for the price, the sounds are just a matter of taste.
