Origin

The XDrum singing bowls are produced in India using an elaborate process. While they were once used mainly as cooking and eating vessels in the Himalayas, Buddhist monks discovered the bowls as an aid to meditation and thus gave them a whole new purpose.

Handmade One-of-a-Kind Pieces

XDrum singing bowls are painstakingly handcrafted from seven materials. This alloy consists of the metals copper, zinc, iron, nickel, aluminum, silver, and gold. The exact composition can vary from maker to maker. To achieve the final shape and individual tone, the alloy is hammered into the desired form over a fire. It is often heated and cooled up to 30 times in the process.

Unlike machine-made bowls, the handcrafted XDrum models are unique one-of-a-kind pieces. A certain tolerance in the diameter and weight of the bowl is perfectly normal and does not represent a reduction in quality.

Handling

To produce the soothing tones and vibrations, the bowls are struck with or rubbed by a mallet. In this way the bowl can even be made to sing. When several bowls are played at the same time, a unique, enchanting sound pattern emerges.

Cushion

The singing bowl cushion serves as a base for the Tibetan singing bowl and affects the bowl's tonal color and resonance. It prevents the tone from being influenced by the surface when the bowl is struck—such as a table, floor, or other ambient noises. Thus the cushion ensures a warm, long-sustaining, and soft tone. Another advantage of a singing bowl pad is the stable support provided by its flexible filling. In addition, this visually beautiful cushion also presents your singing bowl decoratively!

Tibetan singing bowls speak to body, mind, and soul and open the way to new horizons!
