Sound Magic for Relaxation, Meditation, and Inspiration!

You don’t have to be a devoted follower of spiritual concepts to perceive the holistic, calming effect of the warm, earth-connected harmonies of Tibetan singing bowls. The vibrations and tones of these traditional sound vessels radiate an almost magical power. You intuitively sense how the sounds harmonize body and mind. The different techniques of striking and rubbing the bowl with the mallet produce nuanced tones that engage all the senses and evoke deep relaxation, untroubled lightness, and the feeling of being at peace with oneself.

Applications

Singing bowls are used wherever emotional well-being is a top priority. You can bring their calming effect into your daily private life, promote harmony and balance after a stressful workday, or pamper and inspire yourself through professional treatments. Last but not least, singing bowls are also exceptionally interesting musical instruments that add striking accents to your arrangements. Some concrete examples of use are:

• Stress relief during everyday life
• Wellness treatments in spa facilities
• Sound massages in psychotherapeutic disciplines
• Playful activities in children's groups
• Yoga and meditation
• Pregnancy support
• Sound therapy in care settings
• Creative dance

The unique interplay of round, harmonious tones and gentle vibrations helps you let go, find your center, and relax. Singing bowl applications can therefore also help with sleep and concentration disorders, muscle tension and other complaints.

Origin

XDrum singing bowls are crafted in India using an elaborate process. While in the Himalayas they were originally used primarily as cooking and eating vessels, Buddhist monks discovered them as meditation aids and thus gave the bowls a completely new purpose.

Handmade Originals

XDrum singing bowls are made by painstaking handcrafting from seven materials. This alloy consists of the metals copper, zinc, iron, nickel, aluminum, silver and gold. The exact composition can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. To achieve the final shape and individual sound, the alloy is hammered into the desired form over a fire, often being heated and cooled up to 30 times.

Unlike machine-made bowls, XDrum's handcrafted models are unique one-offs. A certain tolerance in the bowl's diameter and weight is entirely normal and does not indicate reduced quality.

How to Use

To produce the beneficial sounds and vibrations, the singing bowls are struck or rubbed with a mallet. In this way the bowl can even be made to sing. When several bowls are played at the same time, a uniquely enchanting sound pattern emerges.

Cushion

The singing bowl cushion serves as a base for the Tibetan singing bowl and affects the bowl's tone color and vibration behavior. It prevents the sound from being influenced by the underlying surface—such as a table or floor—or other background noises when the bowl is struck. Thus the cushion ensures a warm, long-lasting and soft tone. Another advantage of a bowl cushion is the stable hold provided by its flexible filling. In addition, this visually beautiful cushion also displays your singing bowl decoratively!
