Classic Cantabile ND-18 All Natural Frame Drum 18"

Natural Sound With Authentic Character!

The Classic Cantabile ND-18 All Natural Frame Drum 18" pairs a solid ash frame with genuine natural hide and a consistently natural selection of materials. The frame drum, also called a hand drum, impresses with a warm, characterful, and expressive sound. It can be played with the hands or with the supplied beater and is suitable for rhythmic playing as well as for meditation, sound work, and intentionally crafted sonic environments.

Solid Frame of Natural Ash

The sturdy foundation of the ND-18 is a frame made from solid ash. The natural wood gives the drum an authentic, original look and underscores its organic character. With a wall thickness of 12 mm, the frame offers solid construction. The 18" (45.7 cm) diameter provides a generous playing surface and delivers a balanced combination of manageability, tonal fullness, and powerful response.

Genuine Natural Hide With a Unique Appearance

The playing surface is made of genuine natural hide. This natural material shapes both the look and the lively tonal character of the frame drum. Because the hide is a natural product, variations in color, pattern, and texture may occur. These natural differences are part of the instrument's individual character and make each drum visually unique. At the same time, the natural hide supports a warm and organic sound with immediate response.

Consistently Crafted From Natural Materials

Natural materials are clearly at the center of the Classic Cantabile ND-18. Solid ash, natural hide, leather, and cord define the construction and appearance of the frame drum. On the back there is a leather cross fixed with a cord. This construction provides a practical way to hold the drum securely while playing and complements the instrument's original, pared-back design.

Expressive Sound With an 18" Diameter

With its 18" playing surface, the frame drum delivers a full, warm, and present sound. Powerful strikes can be produced as well as more delicate rhythmic accents. Different strike positions on the natural hide allow for varied timbres and make the ND-18 a versatile instrument for free rhythms, steady pulse patterns, and atmospheric soundscapes.

Playable by Hand or With the Beater

The hand drum can be played directly with the hands or with the supplied beater. Hand playing lets you shape dynamics and tone very directly. The beater produces defined, powerful attacks and brings the drum's full character to the fore. So the ND-18, despite its deliberately simple, non-tunable design, offers versatile possibilities for different playing techniques.

For Meditation, Spirituality, and Rhythmic Playing

With its natural material selection and warm sound, the ND-18 is especially aimed at people interested in meditation, spirituality, esotericism, sound work, or natural musical instruments. At the same time it suits percussion fans and anyone looking for an easy-to-play frame drum with authentic character. Its original construction supports both attentive listening and communal playing as well as free rhythmic improvisation.

Non-Tunable and Uncomplicated Design

The Classic Cantabile ND-18 is designed as a non-tunable frame drum, focusing on simple handling and its natural basic tone. No tuning work or additional adjustments are required. The 45.7 cm diameter provides enough playing surface for expressive strikes and nuanced rhythms without sacrificing the manageability of a classic frame drum.
