Classic Cantabile ND-20 All Natural Frame Drum 20"

Natural Sound In Impressive Size!

The Classic Cantabile ND-20 All Natural Frame Drum 20" pairs a massive ash frame with genuine natural skin and a strictly natural material selection. This large frame drum, also called a frame drum or hand drum, impresses with a warm, characterful and powerful tone. It can be played both with the hands and with the supplied beater, and it suits rhythmic playing as well as meditation, sound work and deliberately crafted sonic landscapes.

Solid Ash Frame

The ND-20's stable foundation is a frame made from solid ash. The natural wood gives an authentic, primitive look and emphasizes the drum's organic character. With a wall thickness of 12 mm, the frame has a sturdy construction. The large 20" diameter, or 50.8 cm, provides a generous playing surface and supports a full, room-filling tone with impressive presence.

Genuine Natural Skin With Individual Character

The playing surface is made of genuine natural skin. This natural material shapes both the look and the lively tonal character of the frame drum. Because the skin is a natural product, variations in color, pattern and texture may occur. These natural differences are part of the instrument's individual character and make each drum visually unique. The natural skin also supports a warm response and an organic sound picture.

Consistently Crafted From Natural Materials

The Classic Cantabile ND-20 deliberately focuses on natural materials. Solid ash wood, natural skin, leather and cord define the construction and appearance of the frame drum. On the back you'll find a leather cross fixed with a cord. This construction makes it easy to hold the large drum securely and complements the instrument's pared-back, primitive design in a functional way.

Powerful Tone With a 20" Diameter

With its large playing surface, the 20" frame drum delivers an especially full and expressive sound. Deep, powerful pulses can be produced just as easily as finer rhythmic accents. The generous skin area opens up numerous possibilities for dynamic playing and different striking positions. That makes the ND-20 suitable for steady rhythms as well as freely shaped sequences and atmospheric soundscapes.

Playable By Hand Or With The Beater

The hand drum can be played directly with the hands or with the supplied beater. Hand playing lets you shape dynamics and tone color very directly. The beater, on the other hand, produces defined, powerful impulses and brings out the large drum's voluminous character. This keeps the instrument versatile despite its deliberately simple, non-tunable design.

For Meditation, Spirituality And Rhythmic Playing

With its natural materials and warm, powerful sound, the ND-20 particularly appeals to people interested in meditation, spirituality, esotericism, sound therapy or natural musical instruments. At the same time it's an interesting choice for percussion fans and anyone looking for a large, easy-to-play frame drum. Its primitive character makes it attractive both for attentive listening and for communal playing and free rhythmic improvisation.

Non-Tunable And Uncomplicated Design

The Classic Cantabile ND-20 is built as a non-tunable frame drum, focusing on simple handling and its natural core sound. No adjustments or tuning work are required. With its diameter of 50.8 cm, the drum provides a particularly generous playing surface and combines primitive materials with a powerful, direct playing experience.
