Classic Cantabile ND-22 All Natural Frame Drum 22"

Natural Sound With Impressive Presence!

The Classic Cantabile ND-22 All Natural Frame Drum 22" combines a solid ash frame with genuine natural skin and a consistently natural choice of materials. The large frame drum, also called a frame drum or hand drum, impresses with a warm, powerful, and characterful sound. It can be played either with the hands or with the supplied beater and is suitable for rhythmic playing as well as for meditation, sound work, and intentionally designed sonic environments.

Solid Ash Frame

The stable foundation of the ND-22 is a frame made from solid ash. The natural wood gives the drum an authentic, rustic appearance and emphasizes its organic character. With a wall thickness of 12 mm, the frame has a solid construction. The 22" diameter, i.e. 55.9 cm, offers a particularly generous playing surface and provides the basis for a full, room-filling, and present drum sound.

Genuine Natural Skin With Unique Appearance

The playing surface is made from genuine natural skin. This natural material shapes both the look and the lively tonal character of the frame drum. Because the skin is a natural product, variations in color, pattern, and texture may occur. These natural differences are part of the instrument's individual character and make each drum visually unique. At the same time, the natural skin supports a warm, organic sound with immediate response.

Consistently Made From Natural Materials

The Classic Cantabile ND-22 clearly puts natural materials center stage. Solid ash wood, natural skin, leather, and cord define the construction and appearance of the frame drum. On the back there is a leather cross fixed with a cord. This construction provides a secure grip while functionally complementing the drum's original, pared-down design.

Large 22" Playing Surface For Powerful Sound

With its especially large 22" playing surface, the frame drum delivers a powerful, deep, and expressive sound. Strong impulses can be produced as easily as finer rhythmic accents. Different striking positions on the natural skin allow for varied tonal colors and make the ND-22 a versatile instrument for free rhythms, steady pulse patterns, and atmospheric soundscapes.

Playable By Hand Or With Beater

The hand drum can be played directly with the hands or with the supplied beater. Hand playing allows dynamics and tone to be influenced most directly. The beater, by contrast, produces defined, powerful impulses and brings out the large drum's full-bodied character. Thus, despite its deliberately simple, non-tunable design, the ND-22 offers versatile options for different playing styles.

For Meditation, Spirituality And Rhythmic Playing

With its natural choice of materials and its warm, powerful sound, the ND-22 is aimed especially at people interested in meditation, spirituality, esotericism, sound work, or natural musical instruments. At the same time, it suits percussion fans and anyone looking for a large, easy-to-play frame drum with an authentic character. Its original construction supports both focused listening and communal playing as well as free rhythmic improvisation.

Non-Tunable And Uncomplicated Design

The Classic Cantabile ND-22 is built as a non-tunable frame drum and therefore focuses on easy handling and its natural core sound. No tuning work or additional adjustments are required. The 55.9 cm diameter provides a particularly large playing surface for expressive strikes, powerful impulses, and nuanced rhythms.
