For all fans of Celtic (and naturally other) music, the 22-string Celtic Harp from Classic Cantabile offers a cozy playing length for everyone.

Typical Design

Characteristic of the Celtic harp is the typically curved shape of the column, as also found on the Irish coat of arms. The ash wood hook harp has a range of 3 octaves (a - a³).

Tuning

The 22 strings are tuned diatonically in E? major, with the blue and red strings indicating where the notes C and F are located. By flipping up the respective hooks, the harp can be quickly retuned to another key, allowing you to play very flexibly with others. For initial attempts and easier understanding, a C tuning is also possible. The two tuning keys serve to tune the instrument: the square key is applied to the tuning pegs, while the hex key is used for the fine tuners on the opposite side.

Lever Mechanism

The special mechanism of this harp makes it a versatile companion in various keys. Each individual string is equipped with a half-step lever, which when engaged raises the pitch of the respective string by a half step. This means you are prepared for all sharp keys with just a few moves.

To avoid transport damage, the harp is shipped with levers flipped up. Therefore, all levers are initially folded down so that all strings can vibrate freely. In this state, the harp is tuned to C major, and it is perfectly normal that the strings need regular retuning during the first weeks. Once the strings have sufficiently stretched, the tuning will hold much longer.

The softly padded bag not only offers your instrument sufficient protection against dust and scratches, but the outer pocket even provides ample space for the two tuning keys and additional accessories.

Tuner with Metronome

This universal device is the perfect companion for virtually any instrument. Not only can almost any instrument be tuned correctly with the contact microphone and wide tuning range, but the built-in metronome also keeps everything in the right tempo. The calibratable tuner offers 5 tuning modes, a tone generator, and a jack input with contact microphone. The metronome features a wide tempo range from 30 to 260 beats per minute, 9 time signatures, and various rhythm subdivisions.

Harp School

Kristine Warmhold explains all important information for harp beginners in this school. From the structure, tuning, and posture of the harp to various plucking techniques, the essential skills are developed through the songs. Detailed explanations for each exercise are provided in additional videos available for download. All songs are also played in the videos. This gives you a better idea at the start of how the finished piece should sound, and later you can play "duets" with Kristine. All videos are played on the small 12-string harp, so you can start with any larger harp as well.

Kirstein Solid Music Stand
