The scaled hammer action with three sensors and 88 weighted keys, which are coated to emulate real grand piano keys of ebony and ivory, gives the pianist a playing feel comparable to an acoustic piano.

\r\nThe AP-270 features 22 built-in tone colors with distinct character. Among them are five concert grand piano voices — from modern-dynamic to warm-subtle. On the AP-270 you also have the option to layer two tone colors and play them simultaneously or overlaid.
\r\nDuet Mode
\r\nWith the Duet Mode you can split the digital piano keyboard down the middle so two people can play a duet. The Duet Mode, where the left and right sides of the keyboard then have exactly the same range, is excellent for piano lessons. You can even set the AP-270 so that when Duet is enabled the sound from the left keyboard section is output through the left speaker and the sound from the right keyboard section through the right speaker.
\r\nMIDI
\r\nYou can connect the digital piano to a computer and exchange MIDI data between the two devices. You can send playback data from the digital piano to music software running on the computer, and you can send MIDI data from the computer to the digital piano for playback.
