2 x 100 W Output Power and High-Quality Signal Processing

The A-S201 delivers 2 x 100 W of driving power, exceeding typical class expectations, and features an audio-centric design that minimizes signal path length and optimizes circuit layout. Placing the power transformer close to the output stage reduces power loss and at the same time improves the power supply's peak capacity to allow for high volume. The signal ground and the power supply ground are tied at a single point, preventing mutual interference and yielding a higher S/N ratio. The result is sound full of clarity and a sense of openness.

Pure Direct Mode for Uncolored, Pure Sound

When Pure Direct mode is activated, the signal bypasses the circuits for bass and treble control, balance and the amplifier buffer. This improves sound quality without affecting maximum output power. Shortening the signal path increases acoustic purity and enables the reproduction of even the finest musical nuances.

Clear, Well-Thought-Out Design

The A-S201 is distinguished by the clear, well-thought-out design Yamaha's Hi-Fi components are known for. With its brushed aluminum surface it matches beautifully with other Hi-Fi components. The controls and volume knob demonstrate Yamaha's commitment to understated elegance.

Phono Input for Connecting a Turntable and Speaker Terminals

The A-S201 features a phono input for connecting a turntable. With a total of five audio inputs it can act as the hub of a Hi-Fi system. Its large screw terminals for the speakers ensure a secure connection even for thick cable connectors.

Power-Saving Mode

The power-saving mode automatically cuts the power (and switches to standby) when the amplifier has not been used for an extended period. It can be set to activate after 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours. Power consumption in standby is only 0.5 W.
