2x 100 W Output Power and High-Quality Signal Processing

The A-S201 provides 2x 100 W of drive power—performance above its class—and a design focused on high sonic quality that minimizes signal path length and optimizes the circuit layout. Positioning the power transformer close to the output-stage circuitry reduces power loss while improving the power supply's peak capacity to allow for high volume. Signal ground and power ground are tied at a single point to prevent mutual interference and achieve a higher S/N ratio. The result is sound full of clarity and a real sense of openness.

Pure Direct Mode for Unadulterated, Pure Sound

When Pure Direct mode is activated, the signal bypasses the circuits for bass and treble control, balance and amplifier buffering. That improves sound quality without affecting maximum output power. Shortening the signal path increases acoustic purity and enables reproduction of even the finest musical nuances.

Clean and Thoughtful Design

Phono Input for Connecting a Turntable and Speaker Terminal with Speaker Connectors

The A-S201 features a phono input for connecting a turntable. With a total of five audio inputs it can act as the hub of a hi-fi system. Its large screw connectors for the speakers guarantee a secure connection even with bulky cable plugs.

Power-Saving Mode

The power-saving mode automatically cuts the power (switching to standby) when the amplifier has not been used for an extended period. It can be set to activate after 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours. Standby power consumption is only 0.5 W.

Canton GLE 70 Floorstanding Speakers

The GLE 70 is the smallest floorstanding speaker in this widely ranged series. Despite its modest cabinet dimensions it presents itself confidently in terms of sound. Three technically advanced driver units on the slim baffle handle the acoustic reproduction. The result is the typical Canton sound with powerful bass, balanced mids and finely detailed highs.

Two 174 mm titanium drivers in an optimally tuned bass-reflex enclosure provide punchy and clean reproduction of low frequencies. They feature sturdy polycarbonate frames, powerful magnet drives and the latest generation of triple-folded wave surrounds — a combination that enables exceptionally dynamic sound development with minimal distortion.

That is nearly unique in this size and price class. The system is complemented by Canton's proven tweeter system with a 25 mm aluminum-manganese dome: precisely engineered waveguides for optimal dispersion and coupling plus tuned crossovers allow accurate reproduction up to 40,000 Hz.
