Origin

The XDrum singing bowls are produced in India using an elaborate manufacturing process. While they were once used primarily as cooking and eating vessels in the Himalayas, Buddhist monks discovered their value as aids to meditation and gave the bowls an entirely new purpose.

Handmade Originals

XDrum singing bowls are painstakingly handcrafted from seven materials. This alloy consists of copper, zinc, iron, nickel, aluminium, silver and gold. The exact composition can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. To achieve the final shape and individual sound, the alloy is hammered into the desired form over a fire. It is often heated and cooled up to 30 times during this process.

Unlike machine-made singing bowls, XDrum's handcrafted models are unique originals. A certain tolerance in the bowl's diameter and weight is perfectly normal and does not indicate a loss of quality.

How to Use

To produce the beneficial tones and vibrations, singing bowls are struck or rubbed with a mallet. This technique can even make the bowl sing. When several bowls are played simultaneously, they form an enchanting, characteristic sound pattern.

Cushion
