Grand Feel Compact Action with Escapement and Wooden Keys with Ivory Touch Surface

The CA401 model is equipped with the new Grand Feel Compact action with wooden keys, which - thanks to Kawai's 90 years of piano-building experience - offers an exceptionally realistic playing feel. All 88 keys are made entirely from long wooden parts, with the white keys - to optimize playing control - covered with Ivory Touch coatings.

Each of the 88 keys moves smoothly on a balance rail, as known from an acoustic grand piano. Thanks to the long keys (especially the length from the key front edge to the balance rail pin), playing in the rear area of the keys is facilitated. The Grand Feel Compact keyboard action features graded weighted hammers, counterweights in the bass range, and escapement simulation. Additionally, the triple sensor system ensures optimal repetition and playing control.

The CA401 digital piano now offers the excellent sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand as a Competition Grand. OLED Display with Easy Operation

The very readable OLED display simplifies operation significantly. All functions can be accessed via the redesigned control panel and the OLED display. No operation via the keyboard is necessary.

Additional Features

The powerful lesson function in the CA401 supports aspiring pianists in learning piano playing through an integrated collection of typical piano lesson etudes by Czerny, Burgmüller, or Beyer as well as the well-known Alfred Piano courses. Each exercise title can be played back with variable tempo and individual playback of the left or right hand before being recorded together with the player's own performance for self-assessment. A four-hand mode, allowing simultaneous playing by teacher and student in the same octave range, is also available.

An intuitive recording function is found in all models of the CA series. The recorder in the CA401 has a maximum recording capacity of approx. 10,000 notes. Up to 3 songs can be recorded.

SHS Headphone System

Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) is a special feature of the new CA401 that gives the acoustic piano sound more spatial depth over headphones and additionally improves the listening experience over longer periods.

Thanks to the use of new audio components and a new power supply, the CA401's sound system is even clearer and more powerful than its predecessor. Distortion-free signal paths with maximum dynamics offer high resolution and pure sound.

Bluetooth Audio / Bluetooth MIDI

In addition to the USB-to-host connection, the CA401 is also equipped with Bluetooth MIDI technology, enabling wireless communication with smart devices (e.g., smartphone or tablet). This gives you the ability to comfortably use a wide range of music-related apps such as the Kawai PianoRemote app or the PiaBookPlayer app in conjunction with your CA401 digital piano.

Or simply use the Bluetooth Audio interface. Just connect your smartphone to the CA401 and enjoy all your music directly through the CA401's speaker system. This is especially recommended for play-along.

Adjustable Music Stand

The music stand's angle can be adjusted - like on a concert grand - to suit the player's position. If needed, the CA series music stand can also be laid completely flat. The new music stand pins effectively prevent sheet music from slipping.

Grand Feel Pedal System

The CA401 is equipped with the Grand Feel Pedal System. This Kawai-developed system matches the resistance when operating the three pedals (sustain, soft, and sostenuto) to the pedal playing feel of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand. Attention was also paid to the correct positioning of the pedals.

The Pronomic KH-900 is a professional stereo headphone that combines excellent sound characteristics with maximum wearing comfort at a budget-friendly price. The soft, wide synthetic leather headband automatically adjusts to head size, ensuring a comfortable fit.
