Even a Good Recorder Can Get Better
The renowned recorder maker Friedrich von Huene (Boston, USA) had the opportunity in 1966 to play and thoroughly examine almost all original Baroque recorders preserved in European museums. From the sum of his data and findings, and modeled on instruments by Jean-Hyacinth-Joseph Rottenburgh (Brussels 1672-1756), the basic model of the Moeck-Rottenburgh Baroque recorders in modern tuning was developed. This recorder is an all-rounder that remains reliable and easy to play even after extended use.
The Rottenburgh is the recorder of choice for players who want to perform at an advanced level. It projects well and is dependable in both small and large ensembles, and it also excels as a solo instrument, for example in sonatas with basso continuo.
Break-In Period for Wooden Recorders
Attention: This recorder is not a cheap plastic product but a serious musical instrument made of real wood! Please pay attention to the proper break-in period for recorders with a wooden mouthpiece. Only then is it guaranteed that the recorder will not become 'hoarse' and that you will enjoy the instrument for many years.
The Rottenburgh Is the Ideal All-Rounder: Reliable, Balanced, Sonorous. Depending on the Wood, Warm and Full-Bodied in Ensemble, Radiant and Expressive as a Solo Instrument.
