Michael Christoph (born April 2, 1964, in Munich as Michael Schwager) is a drummer, singer, guitarist, songwriter, author, and passionate music teacher.
At his first attempts on a toy piano, he already showed great musical talent at age six by playing all the children’s songs he knew. He got his first guitar at ten, his first drum set at 15. Inspired by bands like AC/DC, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, he taught himself to play drums with their songs. Half a year later, Michael Christoph founded his first band with school friends.
In 1994, he began professional drummer training at "Drummer's Focus." He completed his teacher training after two years. From 1998, he was part of the renowned Drummer's Focus teaching team in Munich for 15 years. This was followed by various artist collaborations and gigs as a cover musician with tours that took Michael Christoph to England, the USA, Mexico, Japan, and various European countries.
In 1992, Michael Christoph founded his own music school "Die Blechtrommel" in Eurasburg, where about 100 students annually learn their favorite instrument from him and his colleagues. The multi-instrumentalist works alongside his activities as a composer, live and studio musician, also as a private music teacher in Wolfratshausen, Eurasburg, Erding, and Munich, and is the author of various instructional books for drums, piano, guitar, electric guitar, etc.
