Innovative F-Tuba with Optional Screw-On Valve Cap Weights!
The Lechgold Futuba is based on the popular and proven FT15/6R model, adapted and optimized with East Tyrolean professional tubist Andreas "Fu" Fuetsch according to his wishes and needs. Fuetsch's "Futuba" stands out through innovative technology and well-thought-out features and is an unlacquered signature instrument with special engraving, making it a true one-of-a-kind.
Tuba with High-Quality Components
The tuba is made of brass, the bell of premium gold brass, and the slides of nickel silver. The bell diameter measures 400 mm, and the conical bore ranges from 19.6 to 21.2 mm.
Furthermore, the tuba features an extended semitone on the 5th valve and an extended whole tone on the 6th valve (for intonation compensation in low register fingerings). The valve mechanism is equipped with Minibal joints, ensuring perfect and reliable valve action.
Thumb Rest for Agile Tuba Playing with Fingertip Sensitivity
Instead of a thumb ring, the Futuba has a wooden thumb rest that promotes dynamic and agile playing with the fingertips. This prevents the thumb from "hooking" in the ring and the resulting sluggish playing caused by fingers resting flat on the valve levers.
Additional Weights for Individual Optimization
By screwing on the included additional weights (scope of delivery: 4 x light, approx. 18 g / 4 x heavy, approx. 30 g) to the valve caps, you can customize the tuba to your preferences.
The additional weights add "pressure" through extra mass and increase tonal volume. Notes can also be better centered and lock in more easily. Combined with easier response, runs or wide intervals can be played more comfortably.

Andreas Fuetsch himself plays with additional weights on the 1st and 4th valves. Heavy and light weights can be freely combined on the valve caps and can also be reordered individually if needed.
Includes Gig Bag, Rolling Case, and Mouthpiece
The scope of delivery includes not only the robust and rolling hard case but also a matching gig bag with backpack straps. This ensures your instrument is well protected during transport on all routes.
About Andreas Fuetsch
Born in 1984 in Lienz/Tyrol, Andreas "Fu" Fuetsch studied at the Carinthian State Conservatory and the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich (degree in instrumental pedagogy).
In Zurich, he studied tuba with Prof. Anne Jelle Visser, completing his master's degree with distinction in 2011. During this time, he also attended the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic with numerous orchestral concert and chamber music projects.
Musical stations include: Munich State Opera, Karlsruhe State Opera, DSO Berlin, NDR Hannover, Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Rome, Zurich Opera, Vienna Volksoper.
Andreas Fuetsch is a member of the musicbanda Franui. He teaches at the Kufstein State Music School.
