Brass Sound in Bright Colors!
Good news for anyone who likes to take their brass instrument out on the town: the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass series is here! Worries about nasty tones from temperature swings and dents after lively spontaneous sessions are a thing of the past. This indestructible instrument joins the fun everywhere and, with its radiant sound, guarantees top vibes at every feel-good event where the unmistakable brass tone is essential.
Super Lightweight for Heavy Gigs...
Kids, music students and brass heroes, listen up! The tuba from the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass range is an attractive instrument perfect for experimenting. It invites you to try new things and can be pulled out without hesitation at events where an expensive brass model would better stay in its case. Above all, the low weight makes the MardiBrass tuba an ideal student instrument!
"Der Mann mit der blauen Tuba" Plays MardiBrass
Micha von der Rampe, aka "Der Mann mit der blauen Tuba," has been performing on the MardiBrass plastic tuba for a while now. Whether at the "Dahoim Feschd" (his open-air in Brackenheim near Heilbronn), the ski hut in Ischgl or the Megapark in Mallorca — party animal and stage ace Micha always brings his MardiBrass tuba along and, more importantly, puts it to work.
Micha experiences his "blue miracle" on every stage and is thrilled: "For me it’s the perfect tuba. It’s light, an eye-catcher and virtually indestructible — even on the ski slope and in the roller coaster!"
Micha's verdict: "Both sonically and technically, for the price it’s absolutely insane. I’d buy this tuba again any time!"
Top-Notch Equipment!
If you think robustness and precision are mutually exclusive, think again. The combination of a tough plastic body with corrosion-resistant stainless steel valves and a brass leadpipe and valve cluster makes the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass a really well-rounded package.
Perfect for Traveling
The MardiBrass instruments are so light they won’t weigh you down during a move or a mountain trek. Their resilience also makes them ideal travel companions.
The ABS plastic tuba won’t mind being left briefly on the beach while the band cools off in the water, and it easily weathers long, wet and merry hut nights.
Includes Gigbag and Mouthpiece
The lightweight instrument ships with a mouthpiece and, of course, the matching gigbag.
Tested Quality
To ensure you enjoy your instrument for years, all wind instruments undergo Kirstein quality control. This takes place in our master-led wind workshop and is carried out by qualified instrument makers. We guarantee the flawless condition with a certificate that is enclosed with the instrument.

It is 3/4 size Bb tuba and it is smaller that I was expecting. Mechanically it is nicely done and all 4 valves works nicely and they are made like in real tubas.
The bag is very light and nicely done. There is a very long zip to close instrument bag. That might be a problem after a few years use.
The sound is ok, better than I expected, and valves work smoothly.
While playing in a military band you have to play quite loud to to get enough volume. This is compared to my other tuba which is big B&S.
I will use this tuba while practicing and when we have small gigs. This kind of use it is perfect for me. There is a good value for money.
I recommend this tuba also for juniors to be a first instrument.
Thank you
Jukka

I have to say, the paint is great, matte black looks classy, and I don't care if people recognize it as a plastic tuba. The instrument is well made, and after cleaning and oiling, the valves work well. Only the water key on the main tuning slide wouldn't open, and unfortunately I had to force it a little, which caused the sealing plug to break. But it still seals well.
With a normal mouthpiece and a little practice, it produces a good sound and the intonation is surprisingly good.
Unfortunately, the bag that comes with it is not so great. The long zipper makes the packing process a bit tedious. It's better to order the linked gig bag as well. It's much better, offers space for sheet music and a stand, and the instrument is not only better protected but also quicker to pack.

Hello, does the bell unscrew?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
Yes, the cup can be unscrewed.
Question by Andreas Rönker on 08.05.2025
What do I need to attach a music holder?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
A holder for a marching fork is normally already fitted to the tuba. Otherwise, an optional music holder box can be ordered: https://www.kirstein.de/Marschgabeln/Riedl-Notenhalterkaestchen-mit-Scharnierring-16-mm.html
