Brass Sound in Bright Colors!
Good news for everyone who likes to take their brass instrument out and about: the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass series has arrived! Fear of nasty tones from temperature swings and worries about dents after lively spontaneous sessions are finally a thing of the past. The indestructible instrument joins in on every bit of fun and, with its brilliant sound, guarantees great vibes at every feel-good event where the unmistakable brass sound is essential.
Superlight for Heavy-Duty Use...
Kids, music students and brass heroes, take note! The tuba in the Classic Cantabile MardiBrass range is an attractive instrument you can really play around with, invites experimentation, and is the one you can confidently pull out for occasions where the expensive brass model better stays in its case. Above all, the low weight makes the MardiBrass tuba the ideal student instrument!
"The Man With the Blue Tuba" Plays MardiBrass
Micha von der Rampe, aka "Der Mann mit der blauen Tuba," has been doing his shows on the MardiBrass plastic tuba for some time now. Whether at the "Dahoim Feschd" (his open-air in Brackenheim near Heilbronn), in the ski hut in Ischgl or in the Megapark on Mallorca — party animal and showman Micha always has his MardiBrass tuba with him and, above all, in action.
Micha experiences his "blue wonder" on every stage and is thrilled: "For me it's the perfect tuba. It's light, an eye-catcher and virtually indestructible — even on the ski slope and in the roller coaster!"
Micha's verdict: "Both sonically and technically, for the price it's absolutely incredible. I'd buy this tuba again anytime!"
Features: Top-Notch!
If you think robustness and precision are contradictory, think again. The combination of the rugged plastic body with corrosion-resistant stainless-steel valves and a leadpipe and valve section in brass makes Classic Cantabile MardiBrass a truly well-rounded package.
Perfect for On the Go
The MardiBrass instruments are so light they won't weigh you down during a move or on your next mountain tour. Their robustness also makes them ideal travel companions.
The tuba made of ABS plastic won't mind if you leave it briefly on the beach while the band cools off in the water, and it easily survives long, damp, and merry hut nights.
Includes Gigbag and Mouthpiece
The lightweight instrument comes with a mouthpiece and, of course, the matching gigbag.
Tested Quality
To ensure you enjoy your instrument for years, every brass instrument is inspected by Kirstein Quality Control. This check takes place in our master-led wind workshop and is carried out by qualified instrument makers. We guarantee the flawless condition with a certificate that is included with the instrument.

All in all, it can be used as a training instrument or as a light alternative for marching music.

The only flaw: the water valves. I had to fix them myself to stop it from leaking. I would advise the manufacturers to maybe add a cork seal, which should solve the problem (I solved it by attaching a chair felt).

Certainly not to be compared with a 3/4 tuba. But convinced by low weight for marching use, and also
the sound is round. In the higher registers it gets tight. But all around a tuba for normal use very suitable.

Questions about product
Question by Emi on 05.11.2025
Can the plastic tuba be played just as well in an orchestra? Is the sound similar to that of the tin tuba? Is it recommended for students who have the tuba as a compulsory instrument? Or should we choose a more serious model for semi-professionals?
Answer by Musikhaus Kirstein:
The KT-30BK is a very light and robust tuba that is particularly suitable for lessons, for students or as a handy instrument for on the go (e.g. when marching or outdoors). The sound is surprisingly full and warm for a plastic instrument.
It is therefore highly recommended for school use or as a second instrument - especially because of its light weight and easy handling.
However, if the instrument is to be used regularly in an orchestra or ensemble at a higher musical level, we recommend a conventional brass model in the long term, as it is superior in terms of sound volume and response.
