The only flaw: the water valves. I had to fix them myself to stop it from leaking. I would advise the manufacturers to maybe add a cork seal, which should solve the problem (I solved it by attaching a chair felt).

Can the plastic tuba be played just as well in an orchestra? Is the sound similar to that of the tin tuba? Is it recommended for students who have the tuba as a compulsory instrument? Or should we choose a more serious model for semi-professionals?

The KT-30BK is a very light and robust tuba that is particularly suitable for lessons, for students or as a handy instrument for on the go (e.g. when marching or outdoors). The sound is surprisingly full and warm for a plastic instrument.
It is therefore highly recommended for school use or as a second instrument - especially because of its light weight and easy handling.
However, if the instrument is to be used regularly in an orchestra or ensemble at a higher musical level, we recommend a conventional brass model in the long term, as it is superior in terms of sound volume and response.
