The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood continues Gibson's long tradition of crafting world-famous square-shoulder body designs, such as the Hummingbird, Dove, and Songwriter models. The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana from solid tonewoods, including a glossy Sitka spruce top finished with nitrocellulose lacquer for wide dynamic range, quick playing response, and a balanced tone.

The rosewood used for the back and sides, finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer, delivers slightly fuller lows and sparkling treble overtones compared to traditional Hummingbird models with mahogany bodies. The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood body provides a full, deep voice with excellent volume and projection. The Hummingbird Studio Rosewood features an Advanced Response profile and a Utile neck finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer, ensuring smooth and easy playability. The Advanced Response neck profile sits between several other Gibson neck profiles—not too big or too thin—but for many players it feels "just right" in the hand.

The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard-size frets and is adorned with the classic mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays that are one of the visual signatures of the classic Hummingbird design. The 16" fretboard radius makes playing fast passages simple and efficient, further contributing to the model's excellent playability. The headstock is equipped with smooth-turning Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut for excellent tuning stability, so you'll spend more time playing and less time tuning.
