The Hummingbird Studio Walnut - Resonant Elegance From Noble Walnut!
The Hummingbird Studio Walnut continues Gibson's long tradition of crafting world-famous square-shouldered guitar models, including the Hummingbird, Dove, and Songwriter. The Hummingbird Studio Walnut is handbuilt by Gibson's experienced luthiers in Bozeman, Montana. It uses only solid tonewoods, including a Sitka spruce top with a glossy nitrocellulose lacquer that delivers a wide dynamic range, high responsiveness, and a balanced tone.
The walnut used for the back and sides, finished in satin nitrocellulose, provides a balanced tonal response that sounds warm and full, with a little more bass and treble than traditional Hummingbird models with a mahogany body, but not quite as much as the rosewood-body versions. The Hummingbird Studio Walnut features a full-depth body that delivers a rich, deep voice with excellent volume and projection. It comes fitted with an Advanced Response neck profile and a satin nitrocellulose-finish neck for smooth, easy playability. The Advanced Response neck profile falls between several other Gibson neck shapes—neither too thick nor too thin—making it "just right" in the hands of many players.
The walnut fretboard has 20 standard-size frets and is adorned with the classic mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, one of the visual hallmarks of the classic Hummingbird design. The 16" fretboard radius makes playing fast passages easy and efficient, further enhancing the model's excellent playability. You'll keep reaching for this guitar because it's such a joy to play. The headstock is fitted with smooth-operating Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ nut that provides outstanding tuning stability, so you can spend more time playing and less time tuning.
The nut and the bridge pins installed on the walnut bridge plate are also made of TUSQ. The Hummingbird Studio Walnut's pickguard graphics provide another classic visual reference for the Hummingbird. The Hummingbird Studio Walnut features an active L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle piezo pickup with a quick-access, soundhole-mounted volume control for easy studio-quality plug-and-play anywhere. Packed in the included modern hardshell case for transport and protection, the Hummingbird Studio Walnut is an outstanding musical companion ready to go wherever your muse leads you.
