Classic Cantabile WS-10 - Traditional Dreadnought for Six Steel Strings!

The Classic Cantabile WS-10 from the Western Series relies on a classic steel-string acoustic concept without any electronic extras. The dreadnought body, a full-size scale and six steel strings provide the foundation for chord accompaniment, strumming and acoustic picking.

Basswood for the Entire Body

Classic Cantabile builds the top, back and sides of the WS-10 from basswood. At approximately 103 x 40 x 12 cm the guitar has full-size dimensions and clearly follows the traditional dreadnought format. This body shape has been closely associated with the steel-string acoustic for decades and suits a wide range of typical rhythm and solo techniques.

Birch Neck with Maple Fretboard

The neck is made of birch and is glued to the body, while maple is used for the fretboard and bridge. The fretboard has a 12" (305 mm) radius and is fitted with white dot inlays. The scale length is 64.5 cm (approx. 25.4"), and the nut width is 43 mm. The fretboard offers a total of 20 frets.

Functional Hardware

A plastic nut and a plastic saddle, together with the maple bridge, form the string seating. White plastic bridge pins with black dots secure the strings at the bridge. Open tuners complement the classic hardware concept. A 2-way truss rod allows adjustment of the neck relief.

No Pickup - Direct and Acoustic

The WS-10 forgoes a built-in pickup as well as a preamp and tuner. That keeps operation delightfully simple: tune, play and enjoy the purely acoustic character of a western guitar. At about 1.9 kg the instrument is also easy to handle for lessons, regular practice or transport to a session.
