Like other Kawai digital piano keyboard actions, the Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard features hammer velocity detection through a triple sensor system, where the key strike intensity is determined by the hammer’s movement, giving the pianist a very natural playing feel. The ES520 reproduces the outstanding sound of the Kawai grand pianos SK-EX and EX. All 88 keys of these two exceptional grand piano models were meticulously recorded and analyzed. The unique character of each individual note and the wide dynamic range of the sounds allow the pianist to express emotional playing... from soft pianissimo to powerful fortissimo.

With the integrated Virtual Technician function, the tonal character of these acoustic piano sounds can be easily modified. For example, you can adjust the intensity of string and damper resonance or the noise of the returning hammers. Such personal settings can then be enhanced with a reverb effect that adds extra spatial depth to the sound.

Wide Selection of Additional Sounds

In addition to the realistic acoustic piano sounds, the ES520 offers a broad range of sounds such as electric piano, drawbar or church organ, strings, or choir, enabling musicians to play a diverse variety of genres.

The Dual mode allows simultaneous playing of two different sounds (e.g., grand piano and strings) on the keyboard, while the Split or Four-Hand mode divides the keyboard into left and right zones. The volume balance can be quickly and easily adjusted at the push of a button.

Bluetooth Audio/MIDI

In addition to the USB-to-host port and MIDI connectors, the ES520 is equipped with Bluetooth MIDI technology, enabling wireless communication with smart devices (e.g., smartphone or tablet). This gives you the ability to comfortably use a wide range of music-related apps in conjunction with your ES520 digital piano.

Or simply use the Bluetooth Audio interface. Just connect your smartphone to the ES520 and enjoy all your music directly through the ES520’s speaker system. This is especially recommended for play-along sessions.

The ES520’s rhythm section includes automatic accompaniment arrangements suitable for numerous musical styles. The 100 different arrangements consist of drums, bass, guitar, organ, etc., allowing the musician to play even more expressively thanks to the integrated instrumental band.

Extensive Connectivity

The ES520 offers a range of connection options, such as audio outputs (LINE OUT) for connecting to an amplifier for use in larger spaces (e.g., churches or schools).
