The PRIVIA Flagship Combines the Achievements of CASIO's AiR Technology in a New Compact Design!
The PX-870 features an entirely new Sound Projection feature for improved natural sound projection. The nuanced simulation of damper and string resonances enables a realistic grand piano experience. Additional features such as the lid-position simulator, the Volume Sync EQ, the headphone-mode EQ and the audio recording function make this CASIO instrument a compact wonder of functionality and tone. Furthermore, the Concert Play function lets you practice and perform the piano part with orchestral accompaniment.
Multi-Dimensional AiR Sound Generation
AiR stands for 'Acoustic and intelligent Resonator' and refers to CASIO's newly developed multi-dimensional sound generation. This sound engine, together with further innovations, forms the core of the new digital piano technology. The result is an unprecedentedly lifelike digital reproduction of the playing and tonal behavior of a concert grand.
Layer
This function allows two voices to be layered so you can, for example, combine a soft grand-piano tone with strings. Perfect for ballads and slow, romantic pieces!
Split
Split lets you divide the keyboard into two zones, e.g. a bass in the left hand and a piano or vibraphone in the right, ideal for swing and jazz.
Hall Simulator
The hall simulator is a high-quality digital effect that, through detailed modeling, can faithfully and naturally reproduce the unique acoustic environments of selected famous halls, concert venues, cathedrals and arenas.
Hammer-Response
The specific feel of a piano is also shaped by the timing between key strike and the string sounding. The size and mass of the hammer heads and the time before they hit the strings are directly related to pitch and touch intensity. CASIO's 'Hammer-Response' technology reproduces this mechanical characteristic of an acoustic instrument in detail.
String Resonance
CASIO's unique string resonance system provides a precise simulation of the sympathetic and interacting piano strings across all 88 keys. Additionally, the nuances produced by pressing the damper pedal ('damper resonance') are faithfully recreated.
Lid Simulation
The lid simulator (cabinet simulation) reproduces the different tonal character (brighter/darker) when playing with the grand lid open or closed. Four simulation stages are selectable to taste: open, removed, half-open, closed.
Key-Off Simulation
The key-off simulator delivers authentic decay behavior. Whether legato or staccato — the long decay when releasing the keys gently is rendered with as much nuance as the short decay when releasing quickly.
With the PX-870, the Living Room Becomes a Concert Hall!
