The PRIVIA flagship combines CASIO's AiR technology achievements in a new compact design!
The PX-870 features a completely new Sound Projection feature for enhanced natural sound projection. The nuanced simulation of damper and string resonances enables a realistic grand piano experience. Additional features like the lid position simulator, volume sync EQ, headphone mode EQ, and audio recording function make this CASIO instrument a compact marvel of functionality and sound. Plus, the Concert Play function lets you practice and perform piano parts with orchestral accompaniment.
Multidimensional AiR Sound Generation
AiR stands for "Acoustic and intelligent Resonator" and refers to CASIO's newly developed multidimensional sound generation. This sound engine, combined with other innovations, forms the core of the new digital piano technology. The result is an unprecedentedly authentic digital reproduction of the playing and tonal behavior of a concert grand piano.
Layer
This function allows two voices to be layered, for example, combining a soft grand piano sound with strings. Perfect for ballads and slow, romantic pieces!
Split
Split lets you divide the keyboard into two zones, e.g., bass on the left hand and piano or vibraphone on the right for swing and jazz.
Hall Simulator
The hall simulator is a high-quality digital effect that meticulously and naturally recreates the unique acoustic environments of selected famous halls, concert venues, cathedrals, and arenas.
Hammer Response
The specific playing feel of a piano also comes from the time delay between key strike and string sound. The size and mass of the hammer heads and the time until they hit the strings directly relate to the pitch and velocity of the keyboard. CASIO’s "Hammer Response" technology accurately replicates this mechanical characteristic of an acoustic instrument.
String Resonance
CASIO’s unique string resonance system precisely simulates the sympathetic vibrations and interactions of all 88 piano strings. Additionally, the nuances produced by pressing the damper pedal ("damper resonance") are faithfully reproduced.
Lid Simulation
The lid simulator (case simulation) reproduces the different tonal characteristics (brighter/darker) when playing with the grand piano lid open or closed. Four simulation levels are selectable according to taste: open, removed, half-open, closed.
Key-Off Simulation
The key-off simulator ensures authentic decay behavior. Whether legato or staccato—the long decay when softly releasing keys and the short decay when releasing quickly are both rendered with nuance.
With the PX-870, your living room becomes a concert hall!
