The PX-870 features a completely new Sound Projection feature for improved natural sound projection. The nuanced simulation of damper and string resonances enables a realistic grand piano experience. Multidimensional AiR Sound Generation

AiR stands for "Acoustic and intelligent Resonator" and denotes Casio's newly developed multidimensional sound generation. This sound engine, together with other innovations, forms the core of the new digital piano technology. The result is an unprecedentedly lifelike digital reproduction of the playing and tonal behaviour of a concert grand.

Layer

Hammer Response

The characteristic feel of playing a piano also arises from the time delay between key strike and the sounding of the string. The size and mass of the hammer heads and the time until they strike the strings are directly related to pitch and key velocity. This mechanical characteristic of an acoustic instrument is faithfully reproduced in detail by Casio's "Hammer-Response" technology.

String Resonance

Casio's unique string resonance system provides a precise simulation of the sympathetic and interacting piano strings across all 88 keys. In addition, the nuances produced by pressing the damper pedal ("Damper Resonance") are reproduced authentically.

Lid Simulation

The Lid Simulator (cabinet simulation) reproduces the different tonal characteristics (brighter/darker) when playing with the grand lid open or closed. Depending on taste, four simulation stages are selectable: open, removed, half-open, closed.

Key-Off Simulation

The Key-Off Simulator ensures authentic decay behaviour. Whether legato or staccato — the long decay time when releasing the keys gently is rendered with nuance just like the short decay when releasing quickly.

Piano Bench

The sophisticated spindle mechanism with double scissor system guarantees smooth and extremely durable height adjustment from 47 to 56 cm. Small details like the rubber stoppers between the base frame and the support frame set this attractive piano bench clearly apart from others in this price class. Headphones

The KH-238 delivers a full, balanced sound with rich bass reproduction and clear highs. It offers plenty of power while still providing precise stereo imaging.
Of course, the soft-padded, wide headband is adjustable in length. The extension provides 12 steps on each side for an optimal fit. For even more wearing comfort the earcups are mounted to rotate on two axes. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups additionally provides good external noise isolation.
