Powerfully attractive, this natural wood marvel!

The RB-400N is truly a hot item. From the very first glance at this extraordinary specimen, bassists who feel at home in harder styles know this won’t be just a fling. Not only rugged guys in lumberjack shirts will be highly thrilled by the mighty, fantastically balanced body that feels surprisingly light!

Full and Rich in Overtones

The Lumberjack bass delivers a full, overtone-rich sound that gets the party-loving, wild crowd sweating under the arms. At the same time, the bassist stays effortlessly relaxed thanks to the smooth playability and surprising lightness of this electric bass, allowing them to fully enjoy the full force of the crowd's euphoria.

Set-in Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard and Pearloid Inlays

The traditional set-in neck construction is highly valued by many musicians for its sustain-enhancing qualities. Ergonomically and visually, the glued-in neck fits perfectly. The neck is slim and easy to play. One of the visual highlights of this electric bass is found on the rosewood fingerboard: pearloid inlays that integrate perfectly into the overall design of the RB-400N.

Pickups

The large body provides good sustain and is equipped with two pickups. Both pickups—a humbucker in a chrome cover at the neck and a single coil with chrome cover at the bridge—feature separate volume and tone controls. The neck pickup delivers the fuller, bassier sounds, while the bridge pickup produces harder, overtone-rich tones.

Confident Design

Visually, the RB-400N is a real eye-catcher. The bass is made for driving gigs and edgy guys who want to treat themselves to something nice without compromising their style.

A project

Got this bass 'coz I needed a backup bass for my Motörhead tribute band Ironhörse.
For the price I expected a project and that’s what I got.
The clear finnish revealed som minor flaws, like a big chunk of wood filler, but that don't bother me at all.
The bridge was ok, but I replaced it with a high mass bridge,
The nut was probably the worst crap I have ever seen on a cheap instrument, but was easy to replace.
Had a good go at the sharp fret ends and the fretboard felt really dry and needed a dash of oil.
The original pickups worked fine but "J" pickup didn't look right for me, and since I had some Epiphone TB pickups laying around...
Conclusion.
For the money it's a fair instrument, and for only like € 50 worth of hardware it got a lot better fast.

First of all, many thanks to everyone who has rated the product so comprehensively and competently.

This has taken away my fear of ordering a bass for so little money.

First of all: I have a real Rickenbacker and a copy from Korea, which I also like to play.

I immediately fell in love with the RB Lumberjack with the wooden look and after the reviews were so positive, I ordered it straight away.

It's kind of logical that you can't expect an adjusted instrument for that little money.
But there's almost always someone who can help you.

After I had adjusted the neck a little, I connected the beautifully finished instrument to the amplifier with very few expectations.
And what can I say? A bombastic sound!

I will definitely be playing it live. And not as a replacement bass!
I'm most happy when I can tell the kids who often come to me after the shows and ask about my bass that they're getting exactly this instrument for this great price! 🙂

I've never been one to brag about expensive instruments. This thing looks great, sounds great and almost anyone can afford it.

A very clear recommendation to buy!
I am completely satisfied

How, but...

Beautiful device, but some shortcomings that can be fixed:
- Comes with mediocre strings (or cables!) that need replacing.
- Medium finishes (pickguard deburred?) and the varnish is still sticky, but still playable.
- The jack plug has sizzled, but it's new!
- the body has a how shall we say? somewhat rough ergonomics, the playing comfort is reduced.

And especially the adjustments, which are difficult (confidence stick). The luthier spent a lot of time adjusting it.
After a small setback (bought in 2018), in order not to detune the instrument, I had to remove the chrome microphone cover, the string height is now almost adjusted without too much fret knots. On the other hand, the trust rod is of poor quality :( I hope that this bass will not end up as a decoration with time!

The remaining stars are for:
- the neck mic, which is nice (slight chorus).
- Rick style
- the price
