Authentic Acoustic Piano Feel and Half-Pedal Control

With an 88-note keyboard, the GHS keyboard (Graded Hammer Standard) reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano, from a naturally heavier feel in the low range to a lighter touch in the high octaves. The GHS keyboard offers a grand-piano-like touch that allows fast note repetition and authentic dynamic control. In addition, a half-pedal function authentically reproduces a grand's damper behavior and provides rich expressive possibilities.

Reproduction of an Acoustic Piano's Resonance

Damper Resonance reproduces the wide, deep sound field of an acoustic piano. It also reflects the tonal changes that occur when a grand's damper pedal is pressed. This includes sounds coming from the keybed, and it emulates the cumulative resonance that arises when all those sounds blend together.

The YDP-105 features an authentic grand piano tone plus additional built-in instrument voices such as electric piano, organ, vibraphone and strings — 10 voices in total — and 10 famous built-in classical songs.

The YDP-105 is also compatible with Yamaha's free Smart Pianist app — simply download the app to your smart device and connect it to the instrument*.

The Smart Pianist app enables easy operation of the instrument's voice functions and quick access to a wide range of sheet music, including sheets for the built-in songs. It also offers a powerful Piano Room function to change the tonal character and resonance settings of the piano sound, as well as a recording function.
