The S.E. Shires STBQ30YR model Q30YR is a versatile large-bore Bb/F tenor trombone engineered for a clear, carryable sound with excellent projection. The QTY bell with a 215.9 mm diameter is a 2-piece brass construction with a soldered rim wire - this produces a singing tone, clean response and high clarity both in ensemble and solo settings. The .547" / 13.89 mm bore delivers a broad, mature sound that nevertheless remains focused.

QTY Bell - Clear Color, Precise Presence

The hand-hammered "QI" taper of the QTY bell supports direct radiation and stable tone centers. Especially in wind sections, big band, orchestra or modern brass settings you benefit from defined articulation and projection that cuts through effortlessly without sounding harsh. The brass (yellow brass) provides a balanced mix of brilliance and warmth.

QW47 Outer Slide - Broad Foundation, Brilliant Articulation

The QW47 outer slide pairs a .547" large-bore design with standard-weight brass for a wide sonic foundation. The wide crook made of nickel silver (Nickel-Silver Wide Crook) makes the response particularly precise: attacks, tongued articulations and fast passages stay crisp and brilliant while the core tone remains full and colorful.

F-Rotary Valve & QY Tuning Slide - Comfortable, Controlled, Flexible

The F-rotary valve is built for focus and control and keeps the sound stable across all registers—even in the valve register—without feeling "soft" or unstable.
