For optimal sound, a wind instrument ideally would be made from a single piece. For practical reasons (tuning, transport, technical constraints), however, instruments as we use them today are made from several sections. lefreQue is a revolutionary sound bridge that acoustically connects the sections of your wind instrument and combines the advantages of both.

Saxophonist and flutist Hans Kuijt originally invented lefreQue for the saxophone because he was dissatisfied with the sound quality even of the best instruments. He concluded that all the connections between the different parts of a wind instrument negatively affect sound quality and tuning. Cork is a material that absorbs sound. You can use it perfectly to seal a mouthpiece to an instrument, but at the same time it has properties that hinder the proper transmission of optimal sound from the mouthpiece to the instrument. In fact, it even dampens the sound. lefreQue solves these problems.
Even wind instruments without a cork connection sound better with the lefreQue sound bridge, because acoustic breaks that occur at the joints between individual parts are minimized.

The lefreQue sound bridge consists of two plastic plates that connect the junctions between the individual parts of an instrument. The plastic plates are fixed with elastic bands that are available separately. No changes to the instrument itself are required.
