For an optimal tone, a wind instrument is ideally made from a single piece. For practical reasons (tuning, transport, technical constraints), however, instruments—as we use them today—consist of several sections. lefreQue is a revolutionary acoustic bridge that acoustically links the sections of your wind instrument and combines the advantages of both.

Saxophonist and flutist Hans Kuijt originally invented the lefreQue for the saxophone because he was dissatisfied with the sound quality even of the best instruments. He concluded that all connections between the different parts of a wind instrument have a negative effect on sound quality and tuning. Cork is a material that absorbs sound. You can use it perfectly to make a mouthpiece airtight to the instrument, but at the same time it has properties that inhibit the proper transmission of the optimal sound from the mouthpiece to the instrument. In fact, it even damps the sound. lefreQue solves these problems.
Even wind instruments without a cork connection sound better with the lefreQue acoustic bridge because acoustic breaks that occur at the joints of the individual parts are minimized.

The lefreQue acoustic bridge consists of two plastic plates that connect the joint areas of the individual parts of an instrument. The plastic plates are fixed with elastic bands, which are available separately. No modification to the instrument itself is necessary.
