For optimal sound, a wind instrument ideally consists of a single piece. For practical reasons (tuning, transport, technical constraints), wind instruments today are made of several parts. lefreQue is the revolutionary sound bridge that acoustically connects these parts of your wind instrument.

Bridging the Connection Points of Your Wind Instrument

Dutch saxophonist and flutist Hans Kuijt originally invented lefreQue for his saxophone because he was dissatisfied with the sound quality of even the best instruments. He concluded that all connections between the different parts of a wind instrument negatively affect sound quality and tuning.

Cork, for example, is a material that absorbs sound. It is used to seal the mouthpiece airtight to the instrument—but at the same time, it has properties that hinder the transmission of optimal sound from the mouthpiece to the body and even dampen the tone. lefreQue solves—or better: bridges—these problems.

Of course, wind instruments without cork connections also sound better with the lefreQue sound bridge, as sound breaks occurring at all joint points of the individual parts are minimized.

The lefreQue sound bridge consists of two metal plates that connect the joints of the individual parts of an instrument (for example, between mouthpiece and leadpipe). The plates are secured with separately available elastic bands. No additional modifications or interventions are necessary on the instrument itself.
