For optimal tone, a wind instrument would ideally be made from a single piece. For practical reasons, however (tuning, transport, technical constraints), instruments as we use them today are built from separate sections. lefreQue is a revolutionary sound bridge that acoustically connects the sections of your wind instrument and combines the advantages of both.

Saxophonist and flutist Hans Kuijt originally invented the lefreQue for the saxophone because he was dissatisfied with the sound quality even of the best instruments. He concluded that all the joints between the different parts of a wind instrument negatively affect sound quality and tuning. Cork is a material that absorbs sound. You can use it perfectly to make a mouthpiece airtight on the instrument, but at the same time it has properties that hinder the proper transmission of optimal sound from the mouthpiece to the instrument. In fact, it even dampens the sound. lefreQue solves these problems.
Even instruments without cork joints sound better with the lefreQue sound bridge because it minimizes the acoustic disruptions that occur at the junctions between the individual parts.

The lefreQue sound bridge consists of two plastic plates that connect the junctions between the individual parts of an instrument. The plastic plates are secured with elastic bands sold separately. No modifications to the instrument itself are necessary.
