Sound Bridge for Cleaner Tone & Better Intonation!
For optimal sound, a wind instrument ideally consists of one piece. For practical reasons (tuning, transport, technical constraints), wind instruments today are made of several parts. lefreQue is the revolutionary sound bridge that acoustically connects these parts of your wind instrument.
The result of this sonic bridging is a noticeable and audible improvement in your sound quality: pure overtones, precise tuning, clear response, smooth intervals, extended dynamics, and improved projection.
Bridging the Connection Points of Your Wind Instrument
Dutch saxophonist and flutist Hans Kuijt originally invented lefreQue for his saxophone because he was dissatisfied with the sound quality of even the best instruments. He concluded that all connections between the different parts of a wind instrument negatively affect sound quality and tuning.
Cork, for example, is a material that absorbs sound. It is used to seal the mouthpiece airtight to the instrument—but at the same time, it has properties that hinder the transmission of optimal sound from the mouthpiece to the body and even dampen the tone. lefreQue solves—or better: bridges—these problems.
Of course, wind instruments without cork connections also sound better with the lefreQue sound bridge, as sound breaks occurring at all connection points of the individual parts are minimized.
lefreQue enables you to...
- produce purer overtones
- achieve better intonation
- enjoy easier response
- make smoother note transitions
- expand dynamic range
- experience full surround sound
The lefreQue sound bridge consists of two metal plates that connect the joints of the individual parts of an instrument (for example, between mouthpiece and mouthpipe). The plates are fixed with separately available elastic bands. No additional modifications or alterations to the instrument itself are necessary.
In our wind instrument department, we carry a wide range of lefreQue sound bridges and are happy to advise you.
