Sound Bridge for Better Tone and Intonation!
For optimal sound, a wind instrument ideally consists of a single piece. For practical reasons (tuning, transport, technical constraints), wind instruments—as we use them today—are made up of several sections. lefreQue is a revolutionary sound bridge that acoustically connects the sections of your wind instrument and combines the advantages of both.
The result is an unmatched improvement in your sound quality: pure overtones, precise tuning, clear response, smooth intervals, extended dynamics, and enhanced projection.
Saxophonist and flutist Hans Kuijt originally invented lefreQue for the saxophone because he was dissatisfied with the sound quality even of the best instruments. He concluded that all joints between the different parts of a wind instrument negatively affect sound quality and tuning.
Cork is a material that absorbs sound. You can use it perfectly to create an airtight fit between a mouthpiece and the instrument, but at the same time, it has properties that hinder the proper transmission of optimal sound from the mouthpiece to the instrument. In fact, it even dampens the sound. lefreQue solves these problems.
Even wind instruments without cork joints sound better with the lefreQue sound bridge, as sound breaks occurring at the connection points of the individual parts are minimized.
leFreque offers you
- Cleaner overtones
- Better intonation
- Easier response
- Smoother note transitions
- Greater dynamics
- Full surround sound
The lefreQue sound bridge consists of two metal plates that connect the joints of the individual parts of an instrument. The metal plates are fixed with separately available elastic bands. No modifications are needed on the instrument itself.
In our wind instrument department, we constantly stock a large range of lefreQue sound bridges and are, of course, happy to advise you.
No modification to the instrument itself required!

I have a very expensive and good concert flugelhorn with which I was always looking for the right
mouthpiece and often doubted. I play alone the 1st flugelhorn part and there you often come to your limits, even if you practice daily.
and especially because I play a flugelhorn mouthpiece.
I was very surprised what the reed did. The flugelhorn now responds flawlessly across the entire register and you can
you can really sing on it. A completely new playing feeling. This has totally upgraded my instrument and is a lot of fun.
