The US-4x4HR is a four-channel high-resolution USB audio interface from Tascam’s US-HR series and an advanced version of the successful Tascam US-4x4. It offers four mic/line inputs, two of which can be used for direct guitar or bass connection, four balanced line outputs, plus MIDI input and output for your Windows or Mac computer or your iPhone or iPad*.

This interface is ideal for multitrack recordings of, for example, two instruments and two vocal tracks or multimedia production demanding easy operation and studio-quality sound. The built-in loopback function and support for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS Studio) also make it an excellent choice for two-channel live streaming applications and podcast creation.

Tascam’s Expertise for This Natural, Clear Sound

The Ultra-HDDA mic preamps used in the US-HR models (High Definition Discrete Architecture) are built discretely. Thanks to carefully matched components, they play in a completely different league than conventional mass-produced preamps. Their equivalent input noise is extremely low on the US-2x2HR and US-4x4HR.

Combined with an optimized audio circuit and support for sampling rates up to 192 kHz, our specially developed mic preamp delivers improved performance reflected in a signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB, resulting in the clearest and quietest sound yet.

Simple, Easy-to-Understand Setup and Low-Latency USB Driver

One issue when recording with a computer is latency, a delay of the audio signal caused by digital processing. Another is setting up the driver required to connect an audio interface to a computer. To prevent these from becoming problems, our driver software causes very low latency and is still easy to install.

Moreover, the interface’s external design is kept as simple as possible so even users who aren’t audio device experts can operate the US-2x2HR or US-4x4HR without difficulty.

Recording with Multiple Microphones Simultaneously - Ideal for Live Situations

The US-4x4HR includes four Ultra-HDDA mic preamps. Since you can connect up to four microphones simultaneously, this interface is perfect for recording vocals and acoustic instruments at the same time. You can also connect two guitars or a guitar and a bass and still have two mic inputs free for vocals.

On the output side, the US-4x4HR offers four balanced jack sockets. Through these, you can output individual signals in parallel to the stereo signal of the headphone output—a common approach for multitrack recordings. Tip: Using an audio interface for audio output from a synthesizer app, for example, gives you a fuller sound.

Perfect for Podcasts and Live Streaming

The control panel installed on your computer includes a range of additional functions. Choose whether to monitor in mono or stereo and adjust the balance between input and computer signals. You can also enable or disable hardware inputs individually and set the Windows buffer size according to your working environment.

For online broadcasts, internet communication, and other live streaming uses, the US-HR series interfaces offer a loopback function. This can merge two audio channels coming from the computer with the input signals 1/2 (each selectable mono/stereo) and then route this mix to streaming software or another application on the computer. A software slider lets you adjust the final broadcast volume independently of the device’s line output level setting.

Support for iPad and Other iOS Devices

Instead of a computer, you can also use an iPad, iPhone, or other iOS device together with the US-2x2HR or US-4x4HR for making music. We have tested the performance not only with the included DAW application (Cubasis LE3) but also with many other popular audio recording programs—you can continue using the interface even after switching DAW applications.

Since these models include MIDI input and output, you can also connect MIDI keyboards, drum machines, etc., to play sounds on the iPad or computer and expand your personal orchestra.

The US-HR models come with globally recognized software so you can start making music immediately. Steinberg Cubase LE (including Cubasis LE3) provides everything you need for composing, recording, sequencing, editing, and mixing multiple tracks as the heart of music production.

IK Multimedia’s SampleTank SE 4 includes a huge 30 GB sound library with over 2000 different musical instruments for free. And a free 3-month license for Antares Auto-Tune Unlimited, a comprehensive suite of industry-standard pitch correction and vocal effects, gives you the chance to create the famous sounds of the pros.

The US-HR models feature a solid and practical design built to withstand years of hard use. But their sturdy metal shell not only improves durability.

Combined with die-cast aluminum side panels, it creates an elegant, eye-catching exterior. The metal construction also provides just the right weight so the interface doesn’t easily move when plugging or unplugging cables.

Large-Diaphragm Microphone Including Shock Mount & Windshield

The gold-sputtered 1.25" diaphragm and FET preamp deliver a balanced, wide frequency range with low self-noise—a must for professional recordings! The cardioid pattern stable across the entire frequency range makes the CM-22 a true all-rounder for many applications. Especially when used with a second CM-22 as a stereo pair, it offers the possibility of high-quality stereo recordings (drum overheads, classical or traditional ensembles, radio plays, ambience, etc.).
The CM-22 comes with a high-quality shock mount (5/8" thread) and a carrying case.

Comfort Headphones

The KH-238 delivers a full, balanced sound with rich bass and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume yet clean and precise stereo imaging. Of course, the softly padded, wide headband is length-adjustable. The extension offers 12 steps per side for optimal fit. For even more comfort, the ear cups are mounted on two axes for rotation. The thick, soft padding of the circumaural cups also provides good external noise isolation.

Microphone Arm Stand with Table Clamp

Made entirely of metal, the McGrey microphone arm offers stable handling at a reasonable price. The arm fits into the robust table clamp and can be secured against twisting. The foam rubber insert on the clamp protects the table surface from unsightly scratches. Four springs reliably hold your microphone in place while allowing individual adjustments. The 3/8" thread fits all standard microphone clips and shock mounts; a reducer thread and a mic clip are included for immediate use.
