The black LD Systems MAUI 66 G3 SUB is an active 18" bass-reflex subwoofer for expanding the MAUI 66 G3 column PA system. Its Class D amplification delivers 1,900 watts RMS and 3,800 watts peak, with a maximum sound pressure level of 135 dB SPL. Featuring a neodymium woofer and low-frequency extension down to 28 Hz, this additional subwoofer is ideal for bass-heavy DJ sets, live concerts and professional events. The cardioid preset also lets you configure the bass system for directional dispersion. The package does not include a speaker column or mixer.

18" woofer with neodymium motor

The 18" woofer with a 4" voice coil operates in an airflow-optimized bass-reflex enclosure. This reduces air noise at the reflex ports and supports precise low-frequency reproduction. The low-frequency range extends down to 28 Hz at -10 dB. The integrated Class D power amplifier delivers 1,900 watts RMS and up to 3,800 watts peak. Second-generation DynX DSP provides digital signal processing with carefully tuned limiters.

Two operating configurations for bass distribution

For a conventional bass extension, both the existing and additional subwoofers face forward, with the cardioid preset switched off. For a cardioid subwoofer configuration, position the MAUI 66 G3 SUB facing backward next to the MAUI system and activate the cardioid preset. The two subwoofers then work together to reduce bass dispersion behind the stage and focus it forward. This is especially useful for live performances and larger event spaces.

Automatic FOLLOWER mode and XLR connections

When no column is mounted, the additional subwoofer automatically switches to FOLLOWER mode. Use an XLR cable to connect the sub output or system output of your MAUI 66 G3 to the right input of the expansion subwoofer. Two XLR/jack combo inputs and three XLR outputs are available. There is no integrated digital mixer; the subwoofer is designed to supplement an existing MAUI 66 G3 system.

Rugged enclosure for professional use

The black subwoofer enclosure is made of 18 mm birch plywood with a durable polyurea coating. A protective steel grille shields the speaker, while four carrying handles make it easier to handle.
