The Mackie Thrash12v2 is a powerful active 12" PA speaker for bands, musicians, DJs, schools, rehearsal rooms, presentations and smaller events. Its 12" ferrite low-frequency driver and 1" polymer compression driver are powered by a Class-D amplifier delivering a total of 1,300 Watt peak. Four voicing modes, Bluetooth 5.0 with link function and a switchable Feedback Eliminator allow fast adaptation to different sound reinforcement tasks. With up to 129 dB SPL, a 90° x 60° coverage pattern and the option for 45° monitor use, the Thrash12v2 combines high flexibility with practical operation.

Four Voicing Modes for Different Applications

Flat, DJ, Live and Wedge offer four tailored sound modes. Flat is ideal for a neutral reproduction and is recommended when tone shaping is handled externally via a mixer, EQ or signal processor. DJ delivers enhanced bass for music, playbacks and DJ applications. Live is tuned for vocals, speech and classic live reinforcement. Wedge optimizes the sound when used as a stage monitor at a 45° cabinet angle.

1,300 Watt Peak from Efficient Class-D Technology

The active 2-way design provides a total of 1,300 Watt peak, with 1,000 Watt peak dedicated to LF and 300 Watt peak to HF. Both amplifier sections use efficient Class-D topology and are convection-cooled. Total harmonic distortion is <1% in both LF and HF ranges. The internal crossover frequency between the woofer and compression driver is 2.0 kHz. Peak and RMS limiting plus temperature protection circuits for the power supply and amplifier ensure reliable operation.

12" Woofer with Balanced Fullrange Tuning

The 12" ferrite woofer allows a compact enclosure while delivering solid low-end performance. The frequency response at -10 dB runs from 45 Hz to 18 kHz, while the -3 dB response is specified from 53 Hz to 16 kHz. A 1" polymer compression driver handles the high frequencies. With a maximum SPL of 129 dB, the Thrash12v2 is suitable for music as well as speech, vocals and monitoring.

Wide 90° x 60° Coverage for Even Sound Distribution

The defined coverage pattern is 90° horizontal by 60° vertical at -6 dB. This lets the speaker cover a wide audience area without requiring complex aiming for typical smaller reinforcement situations. Mounted on a suitable speaker stand, the Thrash12v2 works well as a compact front PA. Placed on its side, it also serves as a practical stage monitor thanks to the 45° monitor angle.

Feedback Eliminator for More Controlled Mic Use

The built-in, switchable Feedback Eliminator helps reduce disruptive microphone feedback. In rehearsal rooms, on tight stages or during presentations, speakers and microphones can be relatively close—this feature makes controlled operation easier. Separate LED indicators show the selected voicing mode, the Feedback Eliminator status, Bluetooth link, signal and overload.

Bluetooth 5.0 for Streaming and Speaker Link

Bluetooth 5.0 enables wireless streaming of music and playbacks from compatible mobile devices. You can also link a second ThrashV2 loudspeaker via Bluetooth. That allows wireless stereo or dual-mono configurations with two compatible boxes. The Bluetooth audio signal is also routed to the mix output so the wireless source can be integrated into a larger PA setup.

Balanced Input and Practical XLR Mix Output

For wired audio the Thrash12v2 offers a combo jack with XLR and 6.35 mm TRS. The mic/line input impedance is 10 kOhm balanced. The associated gain control allows level adjustment while a signal/overload indicator displays operating status. The mixed signal is available on a balanced XLR mix output and can be sent on to additional audio components.

Compact Enclosure for Mobile Use

The rugged cabinet has integrated handles and a built-in stand flange on the underside. With dimensions (W x D x H): 353 x 348 x 614 mm and a weight of 13.9 kg, the Thrash12v2 remains easy to transport. Its combination of a 12" woofer, high output power, Bluetooth and monitor function makes it especially interesting for compact mobile PA systems, bands and users who want one speaker for both front-of-house and monitoring duties.
