Mackie Thrash12v2

Flexible PA Sound for Rehearsal, Stage and Events!

The Mackie Thrash12v2 is a powerful active 12" PA speaker for bands, musicians, DJs, schools, rehearsal rooms, presentations and smaller events. Its 12" ferrite woofer and 1" polymer compression driver are driven by a Class-D amplifier delivering a total of 1,300 Watt peak. Four voicing modes, Bluetooth 5.0 with link function and a switchable Feedback Eliminator let you quickly adapt to different PA tasks. With up to 129 dB SPL, a 90° x 60° coverage pattern and the option for 45° monitor use, the Thrash12v2 combines high flexibility with practical operation.

Four Voicing Modes for Different Applications

Four tuned voicing modes—Flat, DJ, Live and Wedge—are available. Flat delivers the most neutral reproduction and is ideal when tone shaping is handled externally via a mixer, equalizer or signal processor. DJ boosts the bass for music, playback and DJ use. Live focuses on vocals, speech and conventional live sound reinforcement. Wedge optimizes the sound for side-mounted stage monitor use and complements the 45° cabinet angle.

1,300 Watt Peak From Efficient Class-D Technology

The active two-way design delivers a total of 1,300 Watt peak—1,000 Watt peak to the low-frequency section and 300 Watt peak to the high-frequency section. Both amplifier stages use efficient Class-D topology and are convection cooled. Total harmonic distortion is below 1% for both LF and HF. The internal crossover frequency between woofer and compression driver is 2.0 kHz. Peak and RMS limiting plus thermal protection circuits for the power supply and amplifier ensure reliable operation.

12" Woofer With Balanced Fullrange Tuning

The 12" ferrite woofer allows a compact enclosure while providing solid low-end performance. The frequency response at -10 dB spans 45 Hz to 18 kHz, while the -3 dB response is 53 Hz to 16 kHz. A 1" polymer compression driver handles the high frequencies. With a maximum SPL of 129 dB, the Thrash12v2 suits music as well as speech, vocals and monitoring.

Wide 90° x 60° Coverage for Even Sound Distribution

The defined coverage pattern at -6 dB is 90° horizontal by 60° vertical. This lets the speaker cover a wide audience area without requiring complex aiming for typical small-sound situations. Mounted on a suitable speaker stand, the Thrash12v2 works as a compact front PA. Placed on its side, the 45° monitor angle turns it into a practical stage monitor.

Feedback Eliminator for More Controlled Microphone Use

The built-in switchable Feedback Eliminator helps reduce disruptive microphone feedback. In rehearsal rooms, tight stages or presentations, speakers and microphones can sit quite close to each other—this feature makes controlled operation easier. Separate LEDs indicate the selected voicing mode, the Feedback Eliminator status, the Bluetooth link, as well as signal and overload.

Bluetooth 5.0 for Streaming and Speaker Link

Bluetooth 5.0 enables wireless streaming of music and playback from compatible mobile devices. You can also link a second ThrashV2 speaker via Bluetooth, allowing wireless stereo or dual-mono configurations with two compatible speakers. The Bluetooth audio is also routed to the mix output, so the wireless source integrates into an expanded PA setup.

Balanced Input and Practical XLR Mix Output

For wired audio the Thrash12v2 features an XLR and 6.35 mm stereo jack combo input. The mic/line input impedance is 10 kO balanced. The accompanying gain control lets you set the level, while a signal/overload indicator shows operating status. The mixed signal is available on a balanced XLR mix output for feeding other audio components.

Compact Enclosure for Mobile Use

The rugged cabinet features integrated handles and a built-in pole mount on the bottom. With dimensions (W x D x H): 353 x 348 x 614 mm and a weight of 13.9 kg, the Thrash12v2 remains easy to transport. Its combination of a 12" woofer, high output, Bluetooth and monitor function makes it especially attractive for compact mobile PA systems, bands and users who want to use the same speaker for both front-of-house and monitoring.
