With the Gold Series, Cort presents a fully solid acoustic guitar line featuring thermally treated ("torrefied") tops and bracing. Cort calls this process "Age To Vintage," which simulates the aging of the top over decades.

This delivers from the start that wonderfully full, overtone-rich, and balanced tone known from old, well-played instruments. The very thin UV finish of the Gold Series supports the guitar’s excellent resonance properties. Additionally, the "Doublelock Neckjoint" was developed as another key element for optimal sound, improving vibration transfer by securing the neck to the body with extra screws.

Age to Vintage Top

The guitars in the Gold Series are fully solid acoustics with thermally treated (torrefied) tops and bracing. The thermally treated Sitka spruce tops are hand-selected and, thanks to their fine grain, have outstanding resonance properties. They produce a wonderfully open and full sound, as known from old, well-played instruments.

Solid Pau Ferro Body

Pau Ferro, also known as Santos or Bolivian rosewood, is very similar in tone to Indian rosewood. It is very hard and gives the guitar a lively, clear, and open sound, plus a beautiful grain.

Mature modern design and innovative manufacturing make the Fishman Flex Blend System the perfect preamp for the Gold Series guitars. Both the EQ and the blend function of the built-in microphone allow delivering perfect tone to amplifiers, PA systems, or mixing consoles depending on playing situation and style.

Reinforced Neck-Body Joint

The connection between neck and body is one of the key points of every guitar. In the Gold Series, the classic dovetail joint is additionally screwed, significantly improving the instrument’s vibration transfer.

Neck Reinforcement with Walnut Strips

The neck of the Gold Series is reinforced in the neck-body joint area with two walnut strips. These provide greater stability to this part of the neck.

Ebony Fretboard

Ebony is a very hard and extremely durable fretboard wood with an open, bright tone.

Ebony Pins

The high density of ebony ensures that string vibrations are transferred optimally to the bridge, much better than with plastic pins.

Genuine Bone Nut & Saddle

The nut and saddle made from water buffalo bone deliver the best possible tone.
