This groundbreaking amp brought many industry firsts, such as the first guitar amp with an integrated USB port, stompbox presets, looper, simultaneous operation of 5 effects, and TransTube, Peavey’s revolutionary analog/digital hybrid technology. In 2012, Peavey raised the bar again with the VYPYR VIP, the world’s first Variable Instrument Performance amp. This was the first amp designed for use with electric, bass, and acoustic guitars. Additionally, Peavey was the first company to introduce instrument models for a feature-packed amp.

Peavey continues the tradition of innovation and excellence by launching the VYPYR X modeling amp. This latest development in the groundbreaking VYPYR series features updated styling, superior cabinet design for premium acoustic performance, and enhanced TransTube technology. The new VYPYR X3 also includes Bluetooth® remote control and an audio streaming input. Now users can stream backing tracks into the amp and control all settings via the iOS remote app.

Every VYPYR X is equipped with Peavey’s exclusive TransTube technology. This true analog distortion not only sounds better but also frees up the amp’s processing power for effects, allowing the VYPYR X to run up to 5 effects simultaneously. When playing live, nothing beats a VYPYR that cuts through the mix. Many modeling amps are simply inaudible in live settings due to poor digital distortion and weak EQ. TransTube technology was developed analog to emulate real tubes and blends perfectly into a live mix.

Bluetooth® VYPYR X Control

Control your VYPYR X3 remotely with the built-in wireless Bluetooth remote via Peavey’s exclusive VYPYR Control app for iOS and Android devices. Change and save all your favorite presets remotely. Stream audio in, play along with your favorite backing tracks, or just sit back and enjoy streaming your favorite music.

WYSIWYG Interface

Another Peavey original, the WYSIWYG interface (what you see is what you get) lets the user instantly recognize the knob positions on the amp. When a modeling amp changes presets, the knob settings usually change too; however, on most amps, the knob position no longer matches the actual setting. This can cause confusion and mistakes, leading to random, unwanted results. On the VYPYR, the LEDs around the knob always indicate its position relative to the current preset. Simply a better solution.
