The fingerboard is of high quality (no protruding frets etc.). The shape of the neck I would call thin u as it is very close to my Esp Ltd MH-50. However, the frets are a bit too flat for me (medium height). The biggest drawback of this kit is that the cutout for the pots, cables etc. is a bit small. So if you want to install an Emg kit with the solderless system you have to create some space by placing the drill.
Conclusion: The wood is in a very good condition, the holes for the mechanics are good. However, one has a small space problem if you want to install complicated pickups.
