As the successor to the KORG SP-250 digital piano, which set standards with its elegant design, the SP-280 impresses with an even more stylish appearance. Its modern, curved aesthetics blend into any environment and also convince with a newly designed back. The piano no longer needs to be placed against a wall as usual but looks great in any room position and from every angle. To visually adapt to the special atmosphere of a room, the SP-280 is available in black and white versions.

The Naturally Weighted Hammer Mechanism Faithfully Reproduces the Touch of an Acoustic Piano

The Natural Weighted Hammer Action keyboard (NH) offers the same playing feel as an acoustic piano. With a heavier response in the bass and progressively lighter response in the treble. All nuances of playing technique are precisely conveyed. With the three-stage Key Touch Control function, you can precisely define how the playing dynamics affect the signal output and thus tailor the SP-280’s response to your own playing style.

Lightweight Design for Easy Transport

Since the SP-280 can be set up practically anywhere, its development also considered easy transport. Including the stand, it weighs less than 20 kg (about 30% less than its predecessor, the SP-250).

Stylish, Newly Developed and Easy-to-Assemble Stand

The included sturdy and stylish metal stand is lightweight, easy to assemble, and takes up little space.

LINE IN and LINE OUT Jacks

You can connect portable audio players or similar devices to the LINE IN jacks (stereo mini-jack) and listen through the SP-280’s speakers. You can also play along with the music yourself and use this practical, simple setup for live performances. Active speakers or recording devices can be connected to the LINE OUT jack sockets.

Touch Control Function

These individually selectable settings determine how the sound responds to playing dynamics and allow quick adjustment to your personal playing style.

Metronome

The integrated metronome keeps the right beat, allowing you to set time signature, tempo, and volume, as well as emphasize accents with a bell sound.

Pedal Effects

The included sustain pedal works like a "half-damper" pedal. The strength of the sustain effect depends on how hard the pedal is pressed.
Alternatively, the optional PU-2 pedal unit can be connected to use a soft and sostenuto pedal in addition to the sustain pedal. Using three pedals, as on an acoustic piano, is recommended for piano students, learners, or professional pianists.

MIDI

The SP-280 supports the MIDI standard for transmitting control data between electronic musical instruments and computers. Since devices connected via MIDI can control each other, the SP-280 can also be used as a multitimbral sound module with 16 parts.

The KH-238 delivers a full, balanced sound with rich bass reproduction and clear highs. It offers plenty of volume yet clean and precise stereo imaging. Naturally, the softly padded, wide headband is length adjustable. The extension offers twelve steps on each side for optimal fit. For even more wearing comfort, the ear cups are mounted on two axes and fit very comfortably around your ears.

The thick, soft padding of the circumaural ear cups also provides good external noise isolation. The integrated volume control on the cable is always within reach. The 3.5 mm stereo jack plug is gold-plated for improved transmission, and a 6.3 mm stereo jack adapter is also included.
