Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 Signature Electric Bass in Silverburst Including Case!

Mike Dirnt is the bassist and co-founder of the legendary punk rock band Green Day. As a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, his distinctive basslines, vocals and high-energy stage presence have played a key role in Green Day's success. Now, in collaboration with Epiphone, Mike Dirnt has reissued the Gibson Grabber G-3 bass that he played on countless tours and albums, including Green Day's groundbreaking 1994 album "Dookie," which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 bass features a double-cut Grabber body made of maple. The three-piece maple neck with a 34-inch scale has an ebony fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets, and white abalone dot inlays adorn the fingerboard. The classic Grabber "V" headstock is fitted with open-gear bass tuners with historic clover buttons and a bone nut, while the other ends of the strings run over a high-density Leo Ouan Badass II bridge for improved attack and sustain as well as full intonation and string height adjustment, then through the body and are anchored with string ferrules on the back of the body for excellent tone and sustain.

Special Electronics

The three Gibson G-3 pickups are built at the Gibson Pickup Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, and are wired in a "buck-and-a-half" pickup configuration. When the three-way switch is in the upper position, both the neck and middle pickups are active simultaneously, producing a humbucker-like effect. When the switch is in the middle position, all three pickups are active. When the toggle is in the lower position, the middle and bridge pickups are active together, creating another humbucker-like sound. This versatile pickup configuration, combined with the master volume and tone controls, offers a wide range of hum-cancelling tonal options.
