The Artisan C model is regarded by many as the "workhorse" of the Artisan Series. With the latest facelift, the Artisan C models now come in cool new colors. A lighter and thus more comfortable-to-play poplar body is used, while premium hardware like the MetalCraft M bridge and the proven combination of Bartolini MK-1 pickup set and Markbass MB-1 preamp deliver outstanding tone and playability, ensuring excellent playability and superb sound.

Poplar Body

Poplar is an excellent tonewood that resembles alder in tonal character. It offers a full sound with strong mids and clear bass, very balanced across the entire frequency spectrum, making it suitable for a wide range of genres and playing styles.

Bartolini MK-1 Pickups

The Bartolini Dual-Coil MK-1 pickup delivers a dynamic tone with massive, assertive mids and crystal-clear highs.

Markbass MB-1 Preamp

The Markbass MB-1 EQ preamp provides a very neutral, transparent amplification of the bass, supporting the instrument’s fundamental character. It produces the typical feel of passive electronics with smooth bass, punchy mids, and bell-like highs. The Markbass 3-band EQ preamp transmits the bass’s tone authentically and uncolored.

MetalCraft M Bridge

The solid, mass-rich MetalCraft M bridge was designed with easy handling and improved vibration transfer in mind. The strings can be threaded either traditionally from the back into the bridge or through the body (string-through-body) to achieve either the classic tone or, through the body, more sustain and a more focused sound.

Another enhancement to vibration properties is the deep, individual slots where the saddles sit absolutely precisely and cannot shift. This ensures a clean transfer of string vibrations to the body. MetalCraft M4 and M5 bridges have a string spacing of 19mm on the M4 and 18mm on the M5 bridge.

Maple Neck with Jatoba Fretboard

The combination of a hard maple neck and Jatoba fretboard provides tonal balance and stability as well as long-lasting durability.
