Fender American Professional Precision Bass Oxblood

Fender American Professional Precision Bass - The P-Bass For Professional Demands!

The American Professional Precision Bass brings one of the most influential bass concepts in music history squarely into the present. Fender pairs the familiar Precision Bass character with targeted refinements to the neck, electronics and hardware. The solid alder body forms the classic structural foundation, while the bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard delivers the direct playing feel typical of this instrument family. The result is unmistakably Precision Bass, but tuned in key details for the demands of modern stage, studio and session work.

Modified 1963 "C" With Modern Refinements

A key role is played by the neck with its Modified 1963 "C" profile. Fender references a historic neck feel here, but combines it with carefully rounded fingerboard edges and the "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish on the back of the neck. That creates a comfortably smooth playing feel, especially during long sessions. The newly shaped neck heel also improves access to the upper positions without abandoning the classic bolt-on construction of the Precision Bass. The 9.5" radius and Narrow-Tall frets pair familiar Fender proportions with contemporary playability.

V-Mod III Precision Bass Pickup

At the heart of the electronics sits a single V-Mod III split single-coil Precision Bass pickup. Fender tuned this pickup for a particularly clear, articulate response without losing the well-known punch and characteristic growl of the P-Bass concept. Control is intentionally classic via Master Volume and Master Tone. The ClassicGear Precision potentiometers are engineered for smooth taper, defined resistance values and a musical response curve, so volume and tone can be precisely dialed in.

HiMass Pro Bridge and Thoughtful Hardware

The 4-saddle HiMass Pro bridge allows both string-through-body stringing and the classic top-load option. Its massive construction is designed for increased sustain and stable string alignment. Fender lightweight vintage-style tuners with tapered shafts round out the hardware concept while preserving the traditional Precision Bass aesthetic. Together with the bone nut, 34" long-scale neck and straightforward passive controls, the instrument combines the immediate familiarity of a Precision Bass with the targeted refinements of the American Professional series.
