Rocks Like a Pro!

The Traveler Bass from Rocktile is not only a real eye-catcher, its compact dimensions make it a first-class and space-saving companion on the go. Despite its short scale, it can growl alongside its bigger relatives with its alder body and two single coils.

Body and Neck

The solid body of the TB-4 NHS delivers a very balanced tone, while the maple neck adds the necessary sustain. The "Technical Ebony" fretboard is not only significantly harder than real ebony, it’s also resistant to fluctuations in room temperature and humidity.

Electronics

The bass is equipped with 2 JB-style single coil pickups, each with its own volume control. This allows for countless tonal variations – from warm and rounded to dry and punchy. The third control (Tone) adjusts the balance between bass and treble.

Hardware

All hardware parts are chrome-plated, including the sealed die-cast tuners and controls. The vintage-style bridge allows precise adjustment of each string’s intonation and action.

Also Great for Smaller Players

Thanks to its compact size, the TB-4 is the ideal instrument for vacation, tour bus, or camper. Kids also handle the bass excellently, as the first fret is easily reachable even with short arms. Plus, the light weight of only 2.9 kg makes it perfect for young players!

Extra short scale length with a big sound

I got this bass and out of the box it sounded quite nice, but then on closer inspection I realized that the nut was way too high, the wood wasn't finished properly and it was very loud when I took my hands off the strings. I shielded and grounded the inner cavity and behind the pickups. I also changed the strings and sanded the wood smooth and I was satisfied that it is a very nice instrument with a very fat bass sound, but it still needs a few finishing touches to make it a good bass. I tried it out last night in two different bands and setups and it worked really well. It would have been much nicer if it had arrived with a better setup and grounding, but I think for the price and quality of such a small instrument, it's worth the extra effort to make it work professionally.

Fine bass, the sound is very varied and easy to adjust by switching off one of the two elements (there are two volume levels). With the tone knob, high can also be turned off. The balance is nice, and the action as it came in is absolutely fine. If you like playing small instruments like I do, this is definitely recommended.
A solid little bass for the beginning

I'm a beginner and only need the bass to make music with people here and there and was pleased when I was able to tune it well (it held the tuning after a short time and the pegs also hold the tension well and can't be set in motion too strongly or too weakly) and it was also up to the task very loudly on a good amplifier. Since I haven't really tried out the controls yet, I can't say much about them. They work, but you can't really speak of a significant change in sound - however, I really only ever have a simple amplifier on the bass and don't (yet) experiment with sounds and effects.

It's fun to play on this short scale bass, you don't need long arms and fingers to reach everything easily. The workmanship is good, as is the sound. No rattling, buzzing or loose contact. So a solid thing to start with and for little money. Have fun with it!
You have to know what you are buying the bass for

1.) Shipping & Delivery
Musikhaus Kirstein has delivered super fast, communication was top

2.) Quality of the bass
The wood of the bass is super and diet as a good base. About the rest, however, you have to talk, I really had to rework some (saddle notch was only partly present, intonation was not adjusted at all, pick up height, etc....) to get a playable instrument. Also the strings not much, but not sounding, there also had to get a replacement right away.

3.) Use & Sound
If the bass is then however adjusted, it knows quite to please. I bought the bass to take it with me in the evening to the lake or on vacation. The bass is perfect for that and I'm happy to accept some compromises in quality. For a proper game at home or in the context of a band, the bass is a nice gag, but not suitable.

All in all, I would not want to miss my little one.
