Powerfully attractive black bass!

The Blackbird has a sublime image with a powerful, wonderfully balanced body that is ready to rock. It is a true beauty with a great sound!

  • Long scale
  • Set-in neck construction
  • 2 pickups with separate volume and tone regulator
  • Fretboard with mother-of-pearl inlays
  • Rockin' special edition

Full and rich overtones

The Blackbird Bass delivers a rich, harmonious sound that will cause your fun-loving audience to dance all night. Meanwhile, the bassist will be enjoying the smooth playability and the amazing lightness of this electric bass.

Set-in Neck with Rosewood Fretboard and Mother-of-Pearl Inlays

The traditional set-in construction of the neck is considered by many musicians to promote sustain. This design is also ergonomic and visually pleasing. The neck is slender and very playable. One of the visual highlights of this electric bass is the rosewood fingerboard: mother-of-pearl inlays - could it get any more ideal?

Pickups

The large body delivers well-sustained tones and is decked out with two pickups - a humbucker with a chrome housing at the neck and a single coil with a chrome housing on the bridge. Both have a separate volume and tone regulator. The neck pickup supplies full bass sounds while the bridge pickup brings the harder, overtone-rich sounds.

The Rocktile RB-400B: A love that is always there for you!

This is a lovely bass guitar. both in looks and sound.
Read some reviews that said there were problems with it ,
but mine played great straight out of the box.
There is a great tone from the pick ups & the feel of the neck
when playing is nice and smooth.
In my opinion -. a lovely bass & for a great price!
And the delivery was really quick. Had it in 3 days !
Would recommend .??

I'm giving the five stars here after fixing the following serial error (plus a single error) myself, and the ricken sound is now damn close to that of my former original from 40 years ago, putting an appropriate grin on my face. Here are the details.

MINUS:
1) Neck and bridge pickup sound nice and full on their own. Both together sound thin and bassless. How come's that? The clue was provided by an earlier review from a buyer: the pickups are soldered wrong - yepp! Hence the phase cancellation in the middle position. And this is a serial fault, as this is my third RB-400B, I already sent two back last year with this symptom, as they had another serial fault in addition:
2) The A-string at the 11th fret buzzed a lot, same spot on both. Also now on the third, but not as bad, and I accept this compromise and "bypass" this spot when playing.
To 1) So I unscrewed the white cover and carefully pulled it out from under the strings, turned it up, plugged in the soldering iron and off I went. At first I thought "that's not true, is it?" The wiring looks correct according to the colors. Nevertheless, I reversed the cable routing of the neck pickup between volume poti and changeover switch, re-soldered, and reinserted the cover with neck pickup. Amplifier on, and there the Rickensound was also in middle position. (Maybe one of the pickups from the factory/series already has the wires connected with the wrong colors inside. Either way - that's how to fix it).
3) This third copy had the following single error: the white cover, on which the neck pickup is mounted, had been shifted by 5 mm, yes. This caused the neck pickup to be displaced under the strings and the E-string was much too quiet. I fixed that myself: Since the cover was already unscrewed, it was aligned so that the neck pickup was correctly under the strings; the cover fixed all around with adhesive tape, with mm drill new holes for the screws set; cover in this position firmly mounted again.

PLUS:
Clear buy recommendation for anyone willing to do it themselves, as described above. For:
Ricken sound & Feeling (haptics, playability) are for me (born in 1960) so close to my former original, that it makes good mood.
Also, the overall look is close enough, and where else is there's that today for so few euros?
Have play along already celebrated a few old Deep Purple songs, there is real joy and you feel again like with 20 :-)
Great bass for the price

Considering the cost I have to say it's a good bass, you need the truss rod and bridge setup because the strings are practically leaning on the frets but once done it's satisfying, also the sound is full.
The only thing I noticed is that using both the PU there is not this big difference, much better selected individually, personally I found good sound of the PU neck combined with the bridge pick.
I only replaced the strings with a scale from 50 to 105 for more fullness, the neck holds the tension without problems for now.
Oha, not bad at all

So, up front: This is my first instrument from Rocktile.
... but from the beginning:
The order process was easy, the shipping unproblematic, info about the status super and the packaging 1a. Just as it should be for a large music house.

Now to the RB-400B:
Since I'm just a hobby picker and can't afford an original R... B... I was very enthusiastic about the description and the optics. I was quite skeptical about the price, but since I also play some HB's, I just tried it out.
It is surprisingly light and also not top-heavy and the first impression was quite amazing. Mine is super processed, no snot noses in the paint, no burr etc.. Respect!
What surprised me a bit was how lovelessly "assembled" it came.
I'm used to your competitors that the picks, once unpacked, are somewhat playable. That was not the case here.
The strings were slapped on unkindly, the neck was hyperechoic and the ashtray was pressed so wide that it hit the strings. So first I took the thing apart and adjusted it properly.
I also inspected the materials and I have to say: Everything is top!
After everything was adjusted to my sausage fingers, the first round followed and here I must say: fat! From vintage to brutal everything is in there.
The sound shades react a little getting used to, but everything funzt.

So: I'm happy with the part for this price and call him "pizza maker" :)

Thanks Kirstein ... you see me again!
Not bad for the price but...

Received in quite short time. Box ok and package ok.
Body : At a first glance quite good looking.. At a closer look finish is not bad for the body but binding is quite irregular with some little dents.. The nut is really cheap and badly worked(I'll change it asap) ..
Neck pu is "swinging" quite a bit..
Balance is ok although bass is a bit heavy (in my opinion)..
Sound: I quite like the sound of both pups when separate.. but in middle position (both pups on) volume is much lower compared to the single pups alone.. maybe wrong wiring?
Overall I like this bass but I think that with a little more attention it could be much better..
