Bring the vast Nordic world into your living room!
The 22-string Celtic harp from Classic Cantabile offers soothing sounds for everyone who loves Celtic music (and, of course, other kinds of music too).
Classic shape
The characteristically curved pillar is a hallmark of the Celtic harp, and can also be seen on the Irish coat of arms. Made of walnut, this lever harp has a range of 3 octaves (a - a³).
Tuning
The 22 strings are tuned diatonically to E-flat major, with the blue and red strings indicating the notes C and F. Flip up the corresponding levers to quickly retune the harp to another key, making it easy to play with others in a variety of keys. For beginners and easier learning, it can also be tuned to C. The instrument is tuned using the two tuning keys: the square key fits onto the tuning pins, while the hex key is used for the fine tuners on the opposite side.
Lever mechanism
The special mechanism makes this harp a versatile companion in a range of keys. Each string has a semitone lever that raises its pitch by one semitone when engaged. With just a few quick adjustments, the harp is ready to play in any sharp key.
To prevent damage in transit, the harp is shipped with its levers raised. First, flip them all down so that all the strings can vibrate freely. The harp is then tuned to C major; it is perfectly normal for the strings to need regular retuning during the first few weeks. Once they have stretched sufficiently, they will hold their tuning for much longer.
Gig bag included
The softly padded bag protects your instrument from dust and scratches, while the outer pocket provides plenty of room for the two tuning keys and other accessories.
Simply heavenly!
