In total the Classic Cantabile digital piano offers 200 different styles across a wide range of musical genres.

Chord Fingering Mode and Full Range Mode

"Fingering" refers to how you input chords for the auto-accompaniment. The DP-A 310 offers three options. Single Fingering lets you trigger a wide variety of chords while pressing only a few keys. Multifingering controls the accompaniment by entering a complete chord. Full Range recognizes chords not only in the left hand but across the entire keyboard.

Weighted Hammer-Action Keyboard With Adjustable Touch Response

The DP-A 310's keyboard uses real hammer action to simulate the feel of an acoustic piano as authentically as possible. The 88 keys provide a natural resistance when pressed, just like a traditional acoustic piano. The keyboard is velocity-sensitive, so notes sound louder or softer depending on how hard you strike the keys. Thanks to adjustable settings ("Touch Response"), you can, for example, produce a relatively loud sound even with a gentle touch (setting "Soft"). This feature is especially helpful for the youngest piano beginners. To protect the keyboard from dust, the DP-A 310 also includes a keyboard cover.

128-Voice Polyphony

Full tonal range, even for the most complex piano passages, is guaranteed by 128-note polyphony. With this capability the digital piano can reproduce up to 128 tones simultaneously. Thanks to this palette of available tones you can apply voices from classical to rock at any time — often with stereo sound.

The "Dual" and "Lower" Functions

With the "Dual" function you can layer two voices — for example strings and piano — creating a rich, full sound. "Lower" lets you assign two separate sounds side by side. You define the split point: the right hand plays the preset sound while the left hand is assigned a different sound via the "Lower" button. This makes it easy to play strings with your left hand and piano with your right, for example.

The DP-A 310 as a "Twinova-Piano"

Another feature of the DP-A 310 is the ability to split the keyboard into two halves, effectively creating two small, independent keyboards side by side. Unlike "Split", which divides the keyboard into two regions and assigns different voices, "Twinova" creates two identical, independent keyboards with the same scales. Two people can sit side by side and play like on two small pianos — a great option for lessons, for example between student and teacher!

The "Transpose" Function

Want to transpose the DP-A 310 in semitone steps to play with instruments in a different key? No problem with the "Transpose" function! You can also tune the Classic Cantabile DP-A 310 continuously via the comprehensive function menu if your ensemble isn't perfectly in tune.

Metronome

To help you keep the right beat and tempo while practicing, the DP-A 310 includes a metronome. Both the tempo and the metronome volume can be adjusted as needed.

Recording Function

The recording function lets you capture and play back your own performances. These user songs can include up to six tracks — perfect for assessing your piano progress.

Harmony

A special feature of the DP-A 310 is the harmony function. It adds harmony notes to the right-hand tones, supplying harmonic overtones to your melody lines.

Assist Function "Perform"

The DP-A 310 also features a special assist function. Two sounds are available: Guitar and Piano. It's easy to use and can make playing more interesting for guitarists and keyboardists. The assistant comes with many ready-made melodic phrases that can be triggered by pressing single notes — allowing even inexperienced players to create impressive songs.

DSP Effects

The digital effects built into the piano let you add ambience and depth to your music. For example, you can add reverb to make the sound as if you're playing in a large hall, or add extra harmony notes for a fuller tone.

Headphone Jacks and Speaker System

The Classic Cantabile DP-A 310 features a powerful 25-watt speaker system. These high-quality speakers and the resonant cabinet deliver a dynamic, powerful sound. For silent practice you can use one of the two headphone outputs. Both outputs can be used simultaneously; one output mutes the instrument speakers when used, the other leaves the speakers active.

The Pedals "Soft", "Sostenuto" and "Sustain"

The DP-A 310 gives you three pedals, just like a concert grand, to shape the sound of the pieces you play. The Soft pedal on the left (played with the left foot) reduces volume and creates a softer tone. The middle Sostenuto pedal sustains only the notes that are held down when the pedal is pressed. The Sustain pedal on the right is the most commonly used and lets notes ring out.

USB Audio/MIDI Interface

The built-in USB audio/MIDI interface lets you connect the DP-A 310 directly to your computer or MIDI sampler, so the piano can be used as a master keyboard in common sequencer programs. You can also connect external devices such as an MP3 player to the AUX IN on the rear and play them directly through the DP-A 310's speakers while accompanying them on the piano. That opens up an almost endless repertoire of suitable practice and play-along pieces — students will never get bored! You can also record the piano sound directly on your computer.
