How many guitars do you actually need? X = n + 1, where n is the number of guitars you already have. So, I ordered the kit and got to work! In the box was everything you need to assemble the Strat. Thus, the actual main task is concentrated on the treatment of the wood, there are also three explanatory videos at Kirstein on the website, easy as pie, anyone can, including me. I stained mine blue and then painted with spray paint. The result is my very personal, individual Strat, which of course can not compete with the original, a PRS or an Ibanez qualitatively, but it is self-built! And where is the catch? These are the pickups, in my opinion, they do not go at all, after I replaced them with the original Fender Stratocaster TexMex, the self-built guitar also sounds like it should. And next? X = n + 1, maybe a bass...

Since such a kit is not assembled in a day with all the grinding that you have to do, the evaluation took a few days. But now it is finished and I am thrilled. Everything fit perfectly, right down to the last pre-drilled hole, the neck fit "snugly" into the milled pocket, the neck itself straight, the playability acceptably good even at the first test, before any adjustments were made. The sound: Well, is just not a 1000 € guitar.
For the price an absolute hammer.

Got the kit and at first glance everything looks pretty good to me. The frets are quite well finished and not sharp-edged as with some others. The saddle I will change, however, just like the pickguard and the pickups. How it behaves with the surface treatment and the sealing, remains to be seen. Shellac will be used on my project.

What I like very much is that no tropical wood is used for the kit. The music industry in particular is unfortunately also a big contributor to climate change....

I have the guitar now for about three months and am satisfied. The assembly was completely problem-free. Everything fit perfectly. Here and there were still a few wood chips to remove but that was it. The neck and body are unfinished and get dirty very quickly. So the surfaces need to be sanded and sealed immediately. A clean workspace and thin cloth gloves are recommended during assembly. Even if you can hardly wait to play on it - take your time. Several coats of varnish and intermediate sanding are required for an absolutely smooth surface, patience will pay off.
The tuning stability was comparatively bad in the beginning. In the meantime it is acceptable. The sound is ok. Last but not least, the guitar building was just fun - is also worth something.

I am not particularly gifted in terms of playing technique or craftsmanship. For me, the kit was more for learning. The kit arrived on time and included all parts, assembly instructions and a wiring diagram. The wood is very light and very bright, also quite roughly finished. First I sanded the body and stained it dark brown. There were 2 spots that didn't take the stain, but that could be fixed with a bit of filing. Afterwards shellac was applied in several layers. The wood structure remains, but it gives a very nice shine. The neck is already very smooth, but I also sanded it down. The headstock was easy to cut. Neck and headstock also lightly treated with shellac, which gave a pretty smooth and slightly shiny finish. 3 solder joints for the ground to the vibrato and 2 for the output jack were necessary, the rest is all wired on the plate. The neck fits perfectly into the body and screwed together without any problems. The machine heads and the rest of the small stuff were also fine. The cover to the vibrato didn't quite fit the pre-drilled holes, but since the wood isn't very hard, the screws went in easily.
Sound: not bad. A bit thin compared to my Squire Telecaster but quite usable.
On the whole, the investment was worth it. The tinkering was fun and now I have a Strat to boot. Next year maybe a Jazzmaster or Les Paul? Metallic finish or granite finish??.. This probably wasn't my last kit and you can't have enough guitars anyway.

For a crafty and talented guitarist, this is really a super thing. A few parts you can replace at will. Otherwise, for a beginner who also wanted to get to know the technique a must have. Since a real one-of-a-kind can become out of it.

After extremely speedy delivery I received the complete kit. All holes are accurately pre-drilled, even the neck sits, fits - and does not wobble.
Only the supplied pickguard needs rework at the neck end.
The body of my specimen needed sanding, because I only wanted to stain, oil and wax it. But that's why I bought a kit, to make something myself! The guitar was assembled pretty fast, but I exchanged the pickguard for a preassembled one from EMG. Note for those who are also considering this: the pickguard shapes match (you don't always), but the hole pattern does not. I had to re-drill 2 holes (goes fast, but I just mention it).
All in all, the guitar now not only looks damn sharp, it also sounds really g**l!

A very good kit, good processing, all required holes already present. Neck fits very well without play in the neck pocket. Individual parts and kit well packaged.

In a hurry to play, I nevertheless took care of the assembly of this kit. Everything is "low-cost", of course, but of a correct quality... I have refined the neck and made sure it is perfect in the frets, I have adjusted the tremolo, the action and the intonation of the strings, the truss rod... (tutos abound on Youtube) it doesn't frizz at all and is right on the whole neck... the mechanics hold the tuning... I made a nice finish...
You have to be a handyman, that's for sure, and the result is above my expectations: it's certainly not a 2000€ Stratocaster, and for less than 100€, it probably doesn't sound as good, but certainly not 20 times worse! I confess to being a beginner (55 years old), and this guitar totally satisfies me!
If you're a bit of a handyman, and you're ready to take care of the settings, don't hesitate for a second... ;-)

You can work with it... I have only used the body and neck because my project should be equipped with black hardware but what you see of the rest is perfectly ok for the price with cutbacks see pickguard and Co... I am thrilled by the lightweight body ... which is a dream if you have disc problems ... otherwise well made body and neck that fit well together ... the only point of criticism has been the pickguard which is so badly milled and the whole part including pickups are completely dirty and like an oily substance on the whole sticks ... unfortunately, all plastic parts are not usable and the caps of the pickups which must be changed ... on the whole, you would have to send the part back but well ... :(

This is the 4th diy guitar i have made. the first one of this brand. I thought the body was very light. but in the end the guitar sounds good.
After lacquering the neck had become a bit round. But when the strings were on for 2 days... I could use the trussrod to straighten everything out.

The kit has a high material quality and top processing. The assembly instructions, especially the surface finishing is precisely written. The kit can be recommended to anyone who enjoys self-building.

Wanted to see a guitar for 74€ offered in parts.
Body and neck are in shape and wood so far okay, except for the holes in the body for
the neck and bushing plate the neck I will assemble without plate.

Excellent work, beautiful neck. If you invest and buy better hardware, you will get a great quality guitar.

I received my guitar kit. The woodgrain of the body and the neck is nice. The neck pocket is tight. The body pieces glued together in the line of the neck, not as in the picture, which is fine. All of the hardwares are gold, which is weird considering the picture.The wood color is more like mahogany. Overall a bit rough, need some fine sanding and minor adjustments, but it is a nice kit for the price. I recommend it, but if you want to use the stock hardware, and want a specific color, I suggest you to write an email and ask them about it. I personally change all the hardware for black so it doesn't bother me.

Light: The kit arrived quickly and complete and the parts fit together without any rework. After completion, you have a pleasantly light hollowbody guitar with a volume suitable for the living room without amplification. The woods (paulownia and basswood) have a beautiful grain. Due to the very open-pored surface, I decided on an oil-wax finish after sanding and staining (Cherry-Red: fits well!); otherwise I like to work with shellac. Pickups and electrics are fine.
According to the instructions, the neck should actually be sealed and pre-sanded. Nevertheless, the very light maple fingerboard gratefully accepted several passes of fingerboard oil. I sealed the back of the neck and the headstock with ruby shellac.
Shadows: 1. the white binding of the body unfortunately shows fine micro-cracks at the bends, into which the red stain penetrated deeply. This could neither be scratched nor sanded away and of course doesn't look very nice.
2. the wafer-thin chrome layer on the bridge plate first rolls up a little at the edges and then flakes off in small pieces. Underneath it now shines copper-colored.
3. the machine heads in my kit turned out to be a real piece of work. Under string tension, the strings can only be tuned very awkwardly and with a lot of force. After the obligatory string change, the action of the D-string completely refused to work. Adjusting the pre-tension did nothing to change this problem.
Considering the very reasonable price, you can live with the shortcomings described (some people have a stock of spare parts at home), but it is still a bit annoying.

It was interesting to put together and design an SC myself.
There is one drawback: the neck can't be tensioned well enough to produce very good playability.
But apart from that (hey, we're talking about a small "hundred" here in terms of price!), you end up with much more than I expected!
I would have made a lamp out of it and hung it up as a decoration. But in all seriousness, it stands between the other guitars and is actually played from time to time. I don't have any other SC and the sound really sounds like it should and the two Humbis do what they're supposed to!

So the effort is worth it.
I first stained the wood in several colors, then put 2K clear varnish over it. It holds and looks good.

Nothing about this guitar has turned out perfectly - but you can play it and it's self-made (together!) and designed.

Clearly, anyone who has the time should have made something like this themselves. It also creates "humility" when you take a closer look at some finished guitars.

The set is very good quality! The parts fit together well and the workmanship is excellent.
I'm currently in the process of varnishing the guitar and so far everything has gone great!

Great kit, top quality, fast shipping

Fun to build, the result already sounds quite nice. Better elements and tuning techniques are the first upgrades I would do, but for now it's just a nice thing. Note that there is an error in the build instructions; the holes for the bridge should be 12mm, not 10mm. That's bigger to drill if you've already drilled 10, but easy to do without damaging the ceiling.

This is my first guitar kit and everything was great.
My idea was to prime the body white and then have my kids paint it. After that I sprayed it several times with clear lacquer.
The result is great, the kids and I enjoyed it, even if the paint job is not perfect. However, I soldered the jack socket wrong in the beginning and it almost just buzzed. Oddly enough, the pickups still worked, though the tones were quieter than the hiss. That's another reason why I was a bit perplexed at first.
Now everything works and it's a super guitar, sounds great to my ear and is light as a feather compared to my Tele.
My next project is possibly a bass kit....

The pictures of the assembly instructions are not even remotely coherent. Even the instructions of a Swedish furniture manufacturer beat those for this guitar by lengths, there at least the model drawings match! Also in the assembly video nothing is sufficiently to be recognized. The colors of the wires of the pickups are not assignable thanks to B/W photos, in the video just as little.
What is the use of my electronic knowledge and manual skills, if the creator of the manual does not have the same in the slightest?
In addition, German designations in the soldering diagram would be an advantage.

Unfortunately, the body had a continuous 3cm crack at the neck mount.
The upper cover plate was not neatly packed and therefore had 2 scratches.
Otherwise, a perfect kit.
I will certainly order another kit soon. With this one, everything should then certainly be top.

Like everything in life, it is not perfect. But it is good enough, the neck fits tightly in the pocket. The body is well finished with only small spots of glue that are easily removed. The bindings are a little messy, they were filled in where there were gaps to leave a good finished surface, but you would notice if you just stained the body. The neck is well finished with sanding sealer. The only problem is the dots on the sides, which could have been applied by a drunken ant! They stick out so much that I would have preferred to do this job myself, as it is fairly simple, rather than hire someone who is not capable of doing an accurate job. That being said, I won't make a difference in how the instrument plays. Overall, I am pleased with the kit, its packaging, and the quick delivery.

Basically, you should not expect too much at this price, of course, the pickups and tuners are all from the cheap price segment, which you can then upgrade later if necessary.

What I liked:
The assembly is a great project that also has a passable result at the end. It was now my second DIY kit (before that I already assembled a Tele) and I had a lot of fun and am also very happy with the result.

However, the following things bothered me:
The instructions are such a generalized version that applies to all of the vendor's electric guitar and bass models that it is extremely disconcerting to someone who has little idea about guitar building. Depending on the model, some steps simply differ a lot, so I think it makes little sense to solve this with a one-fits-all manual. In some cases, not everything is easy to see in the photos. There is definitely room for improvement here.

Some of the drill holes were not pre-drilled cleanly and did not match the parts that were supposed to be mounted on them, which has now resulted in one of the neck screws turning very crooked in the body. It's only a cosmetic problem, but it didn't have to be.

The frets had to be completely re-trued. Some were unfortunately too high, so that the strings, although they were fretted in the 10th fret, for example, could only vibrate freely from the 11th fret. I taught myself how to do this with the help of several Youtube videos, but you also need some special tools for this process, which I had to buy especially for this reason. It would be nice if this could be checked in the factory beforehand.

Oh, and I got a different neck than specified (rosewood fretboard instead of maple), but I only noticed that when I had already started assembling, so I didn't want to complain about it. Who attaches importance to it, but should immediately pay attention to it when unpacking.

For the course a super product!!! You certainly have to know a bit how the connections are with an electric guitar ... but then tiptop ...:-)

Perfect for a beginner in violin making. The wood is not coated with pores and allows and facilitates staining the wood or varnishing or similar.

This is the second kit I have purchased. In both cases the order was processed within the described time and the package was tracked excellently. Some craftsmanship is needed to build it, not all steps are apparent from the instructions. I was very pleased with the first one, I built it the way I wanted and liked it. You need basic knowledge of guitar building (there are many tutorials that explain the different techniques very well), and the guitar once built needs to be set up. But in the end, there is a lot of satisfaction.
The kit is very good and also serves to get to know your own instrument better.

great kit, beautiful wood grain, should be sanded a little to make it ultra smooth and perfect, but nothing that. personally I gave a coat of oil to accentuate the grain and the body, will leave the wood color and a nice varnish to make it shiny, handle to adjust, the accessories and electronics seem good, I will change the strings with a high-end, for the rest excellent value for money

I had a lot of fun assembling and designing the guitar: an ideal thing, for people who like to play guitar and tinker. There is nothing wrong with the workmanship of wood and quality of the parts and the sound can be heard. The guitar is very light, unlike most electric guitars (mostly ash or mahogany), and that's a big advantage for me, who plays a lot sitting down; my thighs don't hurt anymore. A clear buy recommendation!

My kit was very well made and all the drilling was very accurate. The body has a beautiful grain that looks great after painting. The hardware is also absolutely fine for the price. I can not say anything about the electronics, because I have not used them.

On the premise that you can't expect a Fender Jaguar to match the original at this price, I have to say I'm pleased.

Disadvantages:
- the neck is thick and not very smooth, compared to other Fender imitations I must say I was hoping for something better.
- Tuner, so far no disadvantages
- Body, the wood is not of excellent quality, some screws once screwed in knocked out the hole (and I didn't use force!) which required correction. The alignment between the pickguard and the holes in the guitar needed some adjustment, the jack for example didn't have the space it needed and it was necessary to dig the wood a bit.
- electronically, the pickups don't seem to be aligned exactly with the strings, as if the pickguard had been cut with some approximation.

Pros:
- Straight neck, frets already filed down and no truss rod adjustment needed.
- Tuning pegs, for now, hold tuning and appear to be of acceptable workmanship.
- Body, no defects and very good appearance of the natural wood.... I painted it surf green, but could have just left it natural
- Electronics, clear schematic, everything or almost everything pre-soldered, it plays right off the bat with no problems and not many hum loops, although I haven't shielded it yet

in general I can say that the fun is assured and you get a product in line with the price, provided you have a little "craftsmanship and skill in diy.

The kit arrived very quickly. On opening, no bad surprises: the neck is straight, the fingerboard is clean. The maple veneer is very beautiful. A closer look reveals deep sanding marks and glue marks. When raising the handle, it is not really in line with the body. It takes a little extra work. Requires skills and tools, but it's very rewarding! Sunburst finish and nitro varnish. I changed all the hardware: electronics, pickups, machine heads. At the price of the kit, it is necessary. When finished, it sounds great even without plugging it in. I would do this purchase again without hesitation!

Worked well

Good product, the delivery was fast, I nevertheless customized everything, so I did not use any of the cabling elements, or mechanics.
There is still a lot of work to do on the body and neck before I can paint it.
But for this price, it's a very good compromise.

Body not as thin and a little longer than a Gibson SG. Prepare the tools if you want to work on the body shape. But good quality product! And very good price. I recommend it.

The delivery came quickly. Everything complete. After painting, it went to the assembly. All parts fit well, especially the neck in the body.

When first connected, it has strongly buzzed. The wires at the jack were connected the wrong way round. My mistake, or I had misunderstood the instructions. After that was fixed the first test came: fantastic! Of course it is a matter of taste. For me, there is a really good clean sound.

There is a point deduction for the saddle. I had to file the saddle notches much deeper. Now the string position is perfect. You can find the right tool here in the shop. The string height at the bridge and the octave purity could be adjusted without problems.

The kit arrived neatly packaged and without damage. Here and there had to be reworked, but on the whole the guitar could be assembled without problems. Thanks

Very complete and well made kit. The handle adapts perfectly to the body. Simply fine-tune the sanding before applying any treatment to the wood. The electronics and fittings are correct for this price.

I set myself a challenge because I know nothing about guitars or electricity.
The explanations are very brief so I only used the electrical schematic and YouTube videos which saved the guitar assembly.
The nut of the switch pickup was missing, too bad because it's a size I couldn't find, I had to recommend the part.
Very stressed during the final test, but it works very well.
Very happy with the result and to have a personalized guitar!
It should be possible to put a picture in the commentary because I would have loved to see the final results when I bought it!

The individual parts appear to be of high quality. But to achieve a good result, you have to invest some work. There are some good videos on Youtube, especially regarding the lacquering. However, I have not yet found a good DIY template for the design of the headstock. You have to see how you can do it best. If you saw away too much, it can become unstable. Patience is asked. It would be nice if Kirstein would also offer optional pickguards for the kit. For the price actually already almost unbeatable. But remember, you still need some optional things, like varnish, sandpaper in different thicknesses, masking cream (for varnishing, for color transitions it should be the best). The most important thing is patience, but you can see it in the videos. If you want to change the headstock accordingly, it is best to go to the nearest carpentry shop that has a band saw.

The last star is missing because the processing is not quite perfect (slight tears at the pre-drilled holes for the mechanisms, edge distances of these holes left and right not equal). Anyway. You have a lot of fun and a usable instrument for little money.

I bought this guitar for my son as his latest kit guitar building project and we were not disappointed. The kit quality is really good. Nice solid body and the neck is mahogany in my opinion and not maple as suggested. We refinished the frets but compared to other kits it didn't need much work at all.
I don't know how the pickups sound as we swapped them for the black covered ones which just improve the look.
Remember and connect the ground wire to the bridge post, the hole is not obvious!

Product is as described, for a kit to build times a guitar itself really top. Unfortunately, it is not yet finished, so can not say anything about how it sounds and how it can be played.

Basically the kit is of a high quality. I have cut away the horns and made a King V.
The fingerboard is of high quality (no protruding frets etc.). The shape of the neck I would call thin u as it is very close to my Esp Ltd MH-50. However, the frets are a bit too flat for me (medium height). The biggest drawback of this kit is that the cutout for the pots, cables etc. is a bit small. So if you want to install an Emg kit with the solderless system you have to create some space by placing the drill.

Conclusion: The wood is in a very good condition, the holes for the mechanics are good. However, one has a small space problem if you want to install complicated pickups.
For anyone who wants to get his own signature model to shine on stage will make a good choice here.

Full-fledged instrument with a high fun factor! Some courage, some skill, a maximum of pleasure for little money. Will not be the last project ...

Body and neck look good and fit well together. now started with preparation paintwork. The top of the body is made of basswood and seems a bit soft.
Assembly requires some soldering. Manual is (too) general and wiring diagram seems unclear. After assembly I can only say something about how the guitar plays.
First impression is pretty good.

I have owned a rocktile guitar for years and being satisfied with the quality/price I decided to go for this brand to try to build one to my taste.
I'm very satisfied with the grain of the body because I didn't want to varnish it, I would have liked to engrave it with some drawings but I would say that it's not very suitable for manual engraving. The finished guitar satisfies me even if with the basswood body it is even lighter than the one I had. If I have to find a small defect, the neck had a small part of the fingerboard not as shiny as the rest and the knob on the selector was missing.

Instructions poor and not in Italian. I'm not very familiar with electrical connections, I thought everything was explained in detail, but no. The translated instructions were not sufficient. The translated instructions were not enough anyway.
I'll have to ask someone to make this guitar work (additional cost).
For the rest, the kit is very nice and allows you to indulge yourself.

The body and the guitar neck are very accurately processed just like the other milling in the body.
Everything has been delivered complete.
The only drawback is that the electrical diagram that can be downloaded is in black and white.
It would be an advantage if the cables on the plan were marked in color so that even a leihe knows which cables are laid and soldered as. All in all, it is a very good product.

I bought this guitar for my 11 year old son as a beginner instrument. I am also assembling it together with him right now. The neck is very nicely made and not much worse than much more expensive guitars. The body is of the wood quality but as expected not very high quality. But all drillings and millings are very precise, everything fits together well. The most work is certainly the varnishing and the finish, but it is also fun. How it all sounds in the end, remains to be seen, but I think it is absolutely okay for a beginner guitar .

I really like the neck. It is very well finished and is very pleasant to the touch and to the eye. The body is well sanded beforehand and ready to paint. A recommendable experience for those who want to customize their guitar from scratch and have some good pickups lying around.

nice top, and woods, there is a mistake, in the pic the pickguard is black but they delivered a white one, in my idea it was necessary black for my project.

For the price a surprisingly good product.
The finish of neck and body are very good. As far as i can judge now, a fret level is not necessary. The frets are a bit sharp, but I expect you'll have to do this finish yourself.

I assembled the guitar as a mockup and all holes are drilled perfectly. Everything is straight and correctly positioned.

There were some glue residues on the top. But nothing that could not be sanded away.

How it sounds I don't know yet.

Delivery went very quickly.
The parts made a good impression. Neck was straight, but the frets I had to rework. Some were not properly incorporated and the edges were sometimes very sharp. But that could be corrected with appropriate umbrella gel paper and the frets carefully nachgekloppft bvis they sat, body without quirks, the mechanics and the electrics mchten for the price also a pretty decent impression.
The description was very poor and for a Strat or Les Paul. The wiring diagram on the homepage belonged to a Strat. BUT the service was great. It took me less than 12 hours to get the right schematic by email.
The fun factor of the assembly was great and the result is convincing for the price.
I will certainly try more kits.

## General

All the parts were there. I thought the veneer on the body was very nice. I decided to oil it with linseed oil varnish
and to treat the rest of the body and the neck with hard wax oil. What I noticed immediately was that the body was
was extremely light. The basswood felt hardly heavier than styrofoam. I have the Kompartimenten including
pickguard shielded with aluminum tape and connected everything electronically.

## The neck

The neck is the best part of the kit. The frets are well made and the maple wood and fingerboard are similar to my
Fender American Standard Strat. After 2.5 coats of hard wax oil with 400 pre and intermediate sanding (dry) and >1000 post sanding (wet), I was extremely pleased. The saddle is unfortunately plastic and my own strings (010-046) don't fit in super well. Unfortunately, the right saddle files are somehow unaffordable.

## The body

The body is ok. Both the body and the veneer on top have a nice grain. Basswood seems to be
relatively light, but this body was probably very light. Maybe the wood was just very dry. I
I was worried about the balance. The veneer turned out very nice after five coats of linseed oil varnish and 400-grit intermediate sanding (the 1st was half oil, blended with turpentine oil). Unfortunately, this body has no string guide through it, which I actually think is nice on Telecasters. Could theoretically drill it yourself with the right machine. The bridge plate is suitable for both guides.

## The pickups

The pickups I could judge so far only over a cheap amplifier. The bridge pickup was ok,
I was not (yet) particularly enthusiastic about the neck pickup.

## The electronics

All right, mini pots.

## Remaining parts

All good. You can't theoretically intonate the typical 3 tele bridge saddles optimally. The delivered ones are
unfortunately drilled straight and not slightly slanted, but that did not lead to problems when intonating. Anyway, everything remained within my personal tolerance.

## Overall assessment

The body and neck screw together nicely. There is nothing more to do, so fits perfectly. Unfortunately the body (basswood) is much too light compared to the neck (maple). This leads to balance problems. The body "floats" when you hang the guitar around. The neck has a so called "neck dive", so it pulls down. I think this is very problematic in a guitar. I drilled additional holes to fix the problem by relocating the knobs, but this did little to reduce the "floating" of the body, just added ugly drilled holes. In that sense, the guitar is no good for gigs or band practice. At home on a chair, however, it plays well. Actually, you would have to send the body back as "not functional", but that hurts when you have oiled and sanded the wood with passion for days (so I should have checked before).

So, although I would give five stars because of the individual parts in connection with the price, thereby unfortunately only three.
I find this a real pity and would have very gladly paid a few tens on it for other wood for the body. This
design error should not happen to a guitar maker. I'm surprised that this can happen with a kit and also that I haven't read anything about it in other reviews. Maybe this does not apply to all guitars and I was just unlucky with my design. I will probably just replace the body in the future.

It was really fun to build and I'm really happy with the result! Sound: really great!
Especially that the holes are all so precise and e.g. The neck fits exactly in the pocket so that the sides run children correct alignment over the neck and the pickups to the bridge.

Two points could be improved (therefore also 1 star deduction):
- the description of the electronics was misleading. Strictly speaking, there were no instructions (even online) that exactly matched this guitar. 1. the electronics were not pre-assembled as described in the instructions and 2. the wiring description for the switch switch was really awkward and did not paste to the component that was supplied. This cost time
- the neck is mounted from its curvature so that the strings lie too flat. Truss rod adjustments bring nothing more, so I have to reline two of the neck screws somehow.

First the positive. Delivery and shipping perfect as usual. In the set everything was there except the last screw. Everything fits and can be mounted quickly and easily with a little skill. Even the solder for soldering the electronics was supplied. Special tools are only needed for filing the saddle notches. The result is really impressive in terms of playability and sound. Already the included pickups do a good job, I think with better pickups you get a really good guitar there.
Now to the shadow: I stained the body after fine sanding with the result that in some places the stain was not accepted. No amount of sanding and cleaning with special stuff helped. With some spatula or what I know there were probably holes or quirks in the wood repaired. Too bad, I gave the guitar a Relic look to hide the whole thing. Actually had something else in mind. Since the dealer should throw an eye on it. But probably for the price is not more to make.
Nevertheless, a nice occupation with what comes out quite useful.

The Tele Thinline replica is a good kit and fun! the guitar is light and sounds really great.the maple neck is great! whether I will change the pickups against better yet profitable with the sound garnicht.

Criticism:
1. saddle was much too high with correspondingly poor string action.But an ancient Höfner saddle has also fit.
2.the screws for the pickguard were unfortunately all pre-drilled so that I could not take the original Fender pickguard without problems.

3.to the pickguard a toggle switch is intended , so that an existing teleswitch was not to be used.the circuit diagram was designed but for the Fender switch.but with a little brain power were the connections but to connect.by the way no noise even without any shielding.the base plate I have connected to "earth".cable for neck pickup was a little too short ,so you had to solder acrobatically with the wiring under the pickguard.
All in all a nice ,good sounding guitar with great fun factor!!!

The kit was delivered quickly and well packaged. Everything was clear, complete and the best : amazingly good quality. With the supplied parts and a little skill it is quite possible to build a functioning guitar very quickly. And yet if you take the time and a little you have the unique opportunity to create something individual and really valuable. Neck and body are really good quality and fit neatly into each other. The neck was just preset and the work with the frets minimal. I can't say anything about the sound yet because I'm working on mother of pearl inlays in the neck and the varnish on the body still has to cure. I'm also adding a different bridge and two humbuckers instead of the single coils, but that's just my personal taste and shows that the kit is a great foundation and has a lot of potential. From me thumbs up and especially super price performance.

I have checked everything , the body and the neck resharpened and the headboard reshaped everything io.
At the pickguard I have discovered various burrs and therefore dismantled the electronics and reworked the unsightly spots.Now I have decided that I will also repaint the pickguard.
Conclusion, up to here everything is in order. How the whole project will come out remains to be seen.
Now I just have to be sure how I want to do the whole thing COLORFULLY.

Good sounding guitar for little money if you assemble everything correctly.
It is not a high quality kit but you can make what out of it.
For practice and small kicks all times very good.
As I said, give a lot of effort in the assembly and painting, and the guitar can be seen.

If you don't have two left hands, you can confidently deal with it. Potis are already pre-soldered, just solder the pickups to the switch. The videos to the individual construction stages are very good for help. Kit plus stain and clear varnish cost 130,00 €. Got a good sounding and visually beautiful guitar for it. Fits.

A little careless about the finish, but for that price, I don't think you can ask for more.

Very nice guitar, with a nice veneer of the top, the assembly is nickel it fits perfectly without forcing too much, just what it takes. The frets look good and don't catch your fingers. The mechanics seem to be of good quality... I can't wait to show it to you finished. Also note that the table needs a pore filler in case of a mirror varnish.... Otherwise au naturel it is beautiful also without anything...

That the quality will not be the best, I was already clear. But I did not expect crooked frets.

Have the kit ordered at the worst possible time, namely exactly over the Christmas holidays. Nevertheless, he was on the 2nd working day with me. Very good.
The kit was delivered via DPD, of which I was notified by mail that the delivery between 9:38 and 10:38 arrives with me. This also worked. Again, very good.
Opened the package and checked the delivery, everything included. Very good
Optics correspond to the photos (looks even better to me), also very good.
Only drawback (but here I am generous, because I install a transparent pickguard), the pickguard is not three-layer black but single-layer white.
So much for the delivery and now for the quality of the kit.
Everything is milled cleanly and feels good in the hand. There are no marks from poorly adjusted or broken cutters. The roughness of the surfaces is very good.
Anything that comes next is complaining at a high level. One should not forget that the kit costs just 100€. And now comes the DIY.
At the transition from veneer to binding there are a few imperfections that have to be filled with wood kit in the appropriate color.
The fretsticks are partly not inserted to the fretboard level, there you have to rework.
In addition, the fretsticks at the edges of the fingerboard need to be reworked. This and all other adjustments are also necessary on much more expensive instruments, so no points are deducted here.
Only one pressure mark on the back of the body and one on the fingerboard made me think about giving the kit a lower score, but with a little effort even these flaws can be worked on in such a way that you only see them if you know exactly where they are.
How the result looks overall I will report here if possible, but I am sure that it was not the last kit from here.

The kit arrived within two days and is in excellent condition. The neck is straight and needs minimal dressing at the frets, as is usual with a kit. The wood is exceptionally nice and well finished for the price. If you have worked with wood before, you can start finishing right away. This is already my second kit of this series. With the second set I would like to build an individual guitar for a good friend for his 50th birthday.

I am positively surprised by the sound. Although I own good brand guitars, this guitar is already almost my favorite guitar.
The electronics instructions were not 100% clear. Here you need some knowhow about RC-circuits. With the string action settings, you have to be patient and readjust in the first few weeks. But, as soon as the guitar is adjusted correctly, you will be more than compensated for your efforts! If you have questions, you get prompt helpful answers via email support.

Delivered fine, looks good at first sight. Only question is about the pickguard of the guitar, but I will contact you about that by phone. Thanks a lot.

Well, a few days ago I bought this kit, in the assembly everything fits well, the wood is very soft, but not bad, the wood of the body comes untreated, we only have to sand it a little and it will be ready to give stain or paint to the algua.
The neck also comes untreated, with a little sanding it will be ready to varnish, the neck comes in rough, to cut to taste, it lacks a mold to draw the shape of the Strato type neck, but that's not a problem if you are good at drawing. The fingerboard also comes natural, so it would be convenient to varnish it with nitro lacquer or similar, the worst thing I found are the frets, they are not level and cut a little on the edges, the latter can be solved by carefully sanding the sides of the frets.
The electronics, tuners and pickups are bad, that's the truth, but it's normal in these low cost kits, I have replaced all this.
In short, it's a kit to have fun building a guitar to your liking and to know how the guts of a guitar are, but I repeat, for this price don't expect a marvel.

Basically a very nice article. For all who are not so skilled in soldering, this was also taken off in the meantime.
Unfortunately, I was missing about half of the screws, the pickguard can not be attached because the humbucker does not leave enough space and for the jack socket were made the wrong holes

So buy this little kit to make a much improved guitar....

The body:

Best in the kit... The table is really beautiful, and after a proper sanding, it's just splendid. But ....
Yeah, there's a but... No drillings match, neither the pickguard nor the bridge... So calculating the tuning fork with alignment of the bridge and drilling in the right place. Which also announces the modification of the micro bridge's deformations...

The fittings:

Unsurprisingly, cheap from cheap, but it's no surprise to me... A complete electronics has been ordered as well as new mechanics. Oh well, mechanics, let's talk about it at .... They are 9.5mm in diameter, for a 10mm hole on the head... No comments !

The handle:

Worst of all!! The fingerboard is one millimeter thicker on one side than the other along the whole length of the neck !!! Forced to rework everything from one end to the other ... In short, a shit without a name !!!

So global opinion... Despite all these defects, I don't regret my purchase, just for the beauty of the body...
However, a minimum of knowledge is necessary in order to have a playable guitar...

I bought the kit to have something to do in the dark season, besides I always wanted a Tele Thinline. The body is o.k., the neck is very nicely finished, the hardware works.
In any case, a great price-performance ratio! The delivery also came very quickly.

Excellent kits in general. Perfect materials, easy to assemble.

After assembling an HB-style guitar two months ago, I was so taken with the quality that I ordered another Tele kit. The first delivery was quite bad - frets in the neck partly too deep and the veneer of the body at the transition to the binding miserable. So a
second delivery - the neck o.k. - but the veneer was bad again. I tried it anyway, watered the veneer and there were bubbles - so it was once really saved with glue. I still tried glue spraying, but the veneer is so brittle, as if it was dried in the microwave (in another life I was a carpenter and know a bit about wood ;-)). Since it was already sanded down to a quarter of a millimeter anyway, I decided to sand the veneer down completely and paint the whole thing white high gloss. The result is now absolutely satisfying for me - I have a Coco Chanel Tele (can't attach a picture, unfortunately), which also comes off really well. Conclusion - who stands on rustic or vintage, can process the TL original, otherwise you have to work on it properly.

hello, bad finishes on the body table, silicon trace, holes on the edge along the plastic edging. the paint and varnish didn't stick. i bought one before which was of much higher quality. it's a pity that there is no quality control before sending. and no possibility to attach a photo to prove my remarks.

In the film, the Angus Joint branding and phrase decals are applied to the headstock, which are not present in the package. How come? Also missing are the instructions about the type of pigment, shade of red and finish to be applied to the guitar.

I had first built an LP style myself and got so much fun out of it that I treated myself to another Tele style. Delivery: Prompt. Everything perfect, instructions OK. I stained it a bit in wood and then painted it clear: Turned out really fancy and sounds good too. The neck can be played well. The only drawback would be the enclosed strings. They are not good and much too thin, but that can be fixed very easily...^^
All in all: A really good playable guitar for little money and the assembly and painting is also really fun!

If you want to tinker a deco guitar, you are right here, otherwise you can only strongly advise against the model. The instrument shown in the explanatory video at "Bastelbautz" has only limited to do with the delivered.
- The top veneer has fractures and deep cracks, a varnishing with clear varnish is impossible, because the veneer can only be smoothed with considerable amounts of filler. Due to the fractures on the side it cannot be sanded smooth, if you want clear varnish you have to re-veneer.
- The back reminds of planed floorboards, you get it only with considerable sanding effort (10 sheets of sandpaper should be at least calculated), smooth.
- The parts and holes fit and are easy to assemble.
- The neck has an extremely high fretting, therefore the guitar is difficult to tune by hand, playing is simply no fun, because of the high frets every note sounds unclean and you only fight with involuntary finger pressure vibrato. The sound is only clean if you press the string exactly! to the contact point on the fret.
- Since approx. 100, - € are money, one expects actually pickups, which correspond to the quality of inexpensive finished guitars.
- Although the explanations in the video with "Bastelbautz" are actually good, the "soundcheck" is misleading, it is probably background music with two guitars, but certainly not what you can produce with the product shipped here.
- Apart from the surface, one notices the errors unfortunately only when it is too late for a return.

Very nice wood, well cut and sanded, practically ready to be painted, body and neck fit perfectly together. Pickups, pots and switches are very good for this price and the guitar sounds almost like a "real" SG. But, oh dear! The saddle is practically unusable and for lack of reasonably good material impossible to rework, hence impossible string action. A part for the waste bin, just like the tuners, some of which were millimetres too short and the fixing thread didn't grip. 10 euros more and a little bit better mechanics and saddle would be desirable.

First of all:
Order before Christmas around noon (spontaneous idea.......). The package was at my door the next morning around 8:30. Respect !!!!!!

About the delivered components:
The carcass was on the front side nicely said, like raised Rauspuntholz. (but could be compensated by additional sanding and a lot of pore filler). The sides and back of the body were extremely cleanly finished. The cutout for the guitar neck was a bit wide, which could be adjusted by gluing in veneer strips.
There is nothing to say about the guitar neck. It is extremely accurate and can be adjusted well.
The pickguard is just a pickguard without relevant function. Sand the edges and it's beautiful.
The pickups are simply good for the total price of the kit. Deliver the expected "Tele Twang". Well shielded "they also do not hum.

Bottom line: the price/performance ratio (if you look at other suppliers) is pretty darn good.
You have to remember, it's a kit and not a "plug and Klix" guitar. for a little more money you could order something "ready made". But the appeal is in having made it yourself. From the geometry, fret purity etc. you can, if you want to, retrofit this kit with higher quality pickups. As I said, you can, but you don't have to.

These are my impressions, which I experienced while assembling this kit. Others may have had different experiences. It turned out to be a "good" Telecaster.

An electric guitar with the "personal touch" for little money! Of course, for 129 € you can certainly get any guitar from the mass market from the Far East, which do not necessarily have to be bad, but then it is not about this kit - rather the fun of "creating" something yourself, possibly with individual components to have built his OWN guitar.

The components are satisfactory. Very good is the workmanship of the body and the neck. The humbuckers are also "OK" and completely sufficient. Possibly there could be problems with the mechanics, as these do not make a very "tuning stable" impression. Otherwise, everything is included - no screw, no cable is missing!

However, you should have some "skill", because the assembly of the neck and wiring of the electronics can be a bit challenging. Heat the soldering iron and you're ready to go....

The guitar was delivered in good confition, minor flaws on the wood (backside). The plastic was poorly cut, but I didn't use it, so... OK.
It took less than a day to finish and assemble and it sounds quite good. I was really surprised by the sound of it.

The delivery came quickly and completely. The kit is well prepared. The mechanical parts are accurate fit and can be assembled without problems. With the electrical side I had my problems, although I am electronically very versed. The included triple switch is wired differently than described in the schematic. A little research Internet helped further.

For the really very reasonable price, the guitar is absolutely usable. Both the hardware and the electronics are of sufficient quality. For the price incredibly good.

Small defects can be fixed with home remedies. The frets are a little rough will be repolished. The wood can be refinished with fine sandpaper, oiled or painted to your liking it looks really great. Aluminum paper in the cutouts improve the shielding. In the further you can let off steam as you like.

I can't say much about the sound, because I used the parts to build a cigar box guitar. This sounds nice dirty bluesy and meets all expectations.

In summary, it is a really useful cheap beginner guitar. Or cheap building material for other projects.

A beautiful kit! And even with the original hardware it can be played well!
The processing for the finish is straightforward, as a final finish I have only oiled and waxed! It looks very nice! The soldering of the hardware is a bit fiddly, but with the instructions (as download) everything works well!

I chose this kit because of the binding. Because the wood had a beautiful grain on me, I left everything natural. Had no experience, nevertheless, the kit has become a very special sweetheart, because I find the neck very pleasant. The pickups sound pretty nice to me too. Super great electronic components are certainly not (especially the jack) but for the money inexpensive.

Have not yet found a Tele in Flip-Flop Lackirung. Now I build it myself !!!

It looks very good right from the start. If you sand it with very fine sandpaper, it's perfect for an oil finish, which I did. I wish I could send a picture because it really looks fantastic!

I did have some issues with the assembly and wiring. I think the instructions could be improved, and the quality of some components is not good, but you can't ask for more for this price.

There were some mistakes: reversed connections, factory connections, and a missing channel to connect the ground wire to the bridge. I damaged the back of the guitar by drilling the missing channel. The neck fits perfectly, but it is necessary not to push it all the way in, because otherwise the bridge pickup will not fit.

After finishing it, the ground wire doesn't work properly and the guitar makes a noise in the background. I will take it to a specialist to get rid of this noise.

In conclusion, assembling the guitar was a very pleasant experience despite the problems. The price is very good and the appearance is excellent.

The guitar is worth the price you pay for it. You shouldn't expect too much here, otherwise you will be mercilessly disappointed!
The bottom line is that I was very annoyed by the fact that all the milling and gluing looked very cheap. All the holes in the wood were badly torn out, there were many small edges on the bindings that had to be filled, and the saddle was glued to the saddle notch and completely tilted. All in all, you're paying €100 for a very cheap guitar that you can get much better from the company's own manufacturers at a slightly higher price.

My conclusion is that if you want to start playing guitar and save 50€, you are saving at the wrong end. After all, stain, oil/varnish, abrasives etc. have to be added.
If you buy the kit (like me) for the fun of tinkering and to hold a self-built guitar in your hand at the end, you can go for it. But all this in the knowledge that you have to put a lot of work into it and possibly invest twice or three times the purchase price.

Overall "OK" for the price
Machining of frets could be better (rework needed if you don't want to hurt yourself).
Small imperfections in wood from body (either stain dark or varnish).
Drill holes and millings need reworking.
I can not say anything about the accessories (pickups, bridge, tuners), I'm not there yet.

When I saw that there are such kits, it was clear to me that I would like to assemble one.
So far I had extremely little experience with wood, at most I had built a mobile once.
My wood had a nice grain and no obvious defects.
Apart from the holes in the end socket, all the holes were pre-drilled to fit. Unfortunately, the neck didn't quite fit in the pocket and I had to re-sand. Due to lack of experience I probably sanded away 1 mm too much wood, so that the neck sits a bit too far in the pocket. In the end, the scale length or the area after the 12th fret is a bit too short, so that I can't tune the guitar completely octave-clean, because I can't set the riders further back.
I'm sure this is still correctable somehow though.
The instructions are not very detailed and also not model specific, however the videos on Youtube, which are available for every kit, help here.
The representation of the wiring is poor, but this was not so tragic, because a part was already pre-soldered. The cables in the kit are shielded, so other than shielding paint and copper foil in the compartments, I didn't have to do anything.
I have no problem with noise and I personally like the sound of the humbuckers quite a bit, I expected worse.
The top of the guitar could be a little thicker, you have to be careful. The wood could be stained well.

Conclusion
Overall, I had a lot of fun assembling and designing the kit and visually I am very happy with the result.
With almost no previous experience I was able to assemble this kit as a beginner and learned a lot about guitars and their electronics.
The "Paula" gets 4 stars from me and next I will try a Tele.

I'm only in the process of painting it, so can only rate the body and neck so far.
The body seems sturdy and well finished.

On the neck is a small quirk, which is found in the mechanics on the back. A little sanded, and primed, it will not be noticeable.

For 132 euros, however, the guitar is great so far.
Rest of the evaluation comes, as soon as it is finished!

I bought the kit because I still had special paint in "copper style" and matching design elements left over from another hobby project and had been thinking about getting an electric guitar in LP design for a while.
After gluing the body and neck with fake screws, nuts and rivets and painting them in the said color, I finally painted over both parts with auto-clear lacquer from the spray can.
The following assembly went really smoothly, body and neck could be screwed together perfectly and also all other drillings were fitting exactly. The electronics were also easy to install, only two to three soldering I had to do myself, otherwise the cable set was already well prepared.
All materials are appropriate for the price: No high-end products, but work perfectly. Only the tailpiece on the bridge (I think it's called stop bar) was too thick on one side and I had to file it down a bit so it could be slid into the holder.
After adjusting the neck and the string position I had to push a few frets a little deeper into the fretboard with a piece of wood and a hammer, because e.g. the G-string was resting on the 15th fret when I reached the 14th fret.
In summary, I had a lot of fun putting this very personal instrument together in a single weekend. It plays well and looks really awesome with my special design!
I recommend watching the corresponding videos about the guitar once, there you can see what to expect.

On the most important surface, there are large glue stains, which can not be sanded out. The guitar looks after staining as if someone had spit on it. In addition, the covering wood layer is thin as paper in three places, whereupon the wood has curved outwards after staining. Since I worked on the front side last, it is not worth to exchange the kit. I put a lot of work into it and the end result is a guitar full of ugly flaws. This is inexcusable ...

I like the kit very much. For the price everything looks amazingly good. The only drawback: the four holes for the pots were not drilled all the way through. The neck, I think, is not made of mahogany as stated. It is much too light. But it could be maple. I am not finished assembling yet. Can therefore not yet give a final verdict. Price-performance ratio is right but in any case.

The goods (have ordered another single cut style) were carefully packed and suffered no damage during transport.
The wood is not prefinished or primed so you can apply any finish. It has no obvious flaws, the grain is beautiful and consistent. The neck fits perfectly. Some craftsmanship is required. For the wood as well as for the electronics.
Delivery also worked out. Coronabedingt has gedaurt about a month but that was already told me when buying. All in all, as soon as the two beautys are ready, the next ordered!

The individual parts come well packaged and the contents correspond to the description. On closer inspection, however, the first defects are noticeable:
The mahogany corpus is glued together from several parts and the wood (traces of rot and cracks) partly of inferior quality.
The cut-outs are clean at the edges, but uneven in depth (chips, slight differences in height).
The cover plate for the pot compartment is scratched.
All in all, the money is not misinvested. But you have to "rework" a lot.

The order , payment and delivery was unproblematic and fast. However, the body has slight defects, the binding in the F-holes is not flawless, otherwise no error was visible at first glance. However, at this price, you can get over these flaws. The neck was flawless, the electrics I could not test yet, because I did not find time for the assembly. Should the result be satisfactory, I will also order such a kit for my son.

When unpacking, I noticed that the "solid cardboard veneer" in the area of the saddle holes and the edge of the body was through.
I wanted to start building, which was a mistake.
Should have sent the kit back.
Instead of working with stain and oil I had to spend a lot of money on varnish.
As the kit progressed the following defects also became apparent.
Entire body thickly smeared with glue or some other substance.
Drill holes for the bridge were about 2mm too far apart (bridge drilled to 7mm on both sides).
Fretboard slightly twisted, I only got rid of it with a lot of fret sanding and relatively high string action.
to get it straight.
Drill hole for bridge grounding was missing.
All in all I had to spend a lot more money and invest more work and time than I actually wanted to.
I had a double cut kit from Kirstein before that was ok.
I probably got a Monday kit or a return.
The worst thing I find is that there was no answer or reaction to my complaint mail at that time.

I wanted to get a cheap kit as a craft project. After some research and a lot of friendly and helpful feedback from the Kirstein team, I decided on this kit from Rocktile. That you can expect little of electronics and mechanics for this price was clear. It was important to me that especially the main parts of the guitar (body / neck) were well or accurately processed. The positive comments so far had at least given me justified hope.
Unfortunately, the first kit had a deep crack on the back of the body, so it went back as a complaint.
The second kit had dark discolorations on the top (a no-go, because I didn't want to paint it, but just oil it), also two holes on the bridge were eroded and the neck was crooked. So also back again, too bad. I didn't want another, third kit because of the experience I had.
Returns / purchase price refunds ran quite quickly and smoothly and the service from Kirstein overall was good. However, since the product "kit" is to be evaluated here, I can only give one star based on my experience.

A lot of work to turn this kit into a playable guitar.
My plan: Stain and oil. Body looks good after unpacking, cleanly finished, binding also good.
Neck pocket perfect. Unfortunately the wood didn't take the color everywhere when stained, so there are a few spots. Looks now older than it is.
The neck: (considering whether to return it) frets partly overhang by 0.4mm and can't be brought into position despite using a hammer. Big file for dressing, rounding and polishing. Over time the cavities will probably fill up with dirt etc. Trunnion nut could only be moved by using oil and soaking time with more than normal force. On top of that, the wood soaked up the oil nicely and staining was out of the question.
Bridge and tailpiece were exchanged (matter of taste) and the pickups the caps removed and split (Erfahrngswerte taken from a SG) so they sound good now.
Bought actually because of this beautiful shape and a Semihollow I had not yet.
Result: With the SG style the body against self-made exchanged (neck a dream) with this model the neck a disaster, whether the next one becomes a Rocktile: rather no than yes.

Generally you can't expect a perfect product with a kit. In some places still needs some rework so that parts fit together.
The body and its millings are in great condition, but the neck is poorly finished. A little crooked at the connecting piece to the body (but can be easily fixed), the fingerboard inlays and the points on the edge are crooked and the saddle is not glued cleanly on one side. Already annoying and associated with more work than planned.

Arrived Monday at first glance it seems like a great product. I'm going to start assembling the guitar now but it seems like a great buy. Recommended.

With the kit almost everything fit right away. Contrary to the description, the body and neck

Been playing guitar for 25 years and had quite a few guitars in my hands, especially Gibson models. The kit of the PST was rather an experiment and the fun of tinkering. Finished screwed together I was more than surprised how good and clean the guitar sounds (played through Plexi and JCM 800). Super string action and nice Strat sound. Suitable not only as a backup guitar for gigs. And if you want even more, you can get higher quality tuners or pickups and upgrade. Clear buy recommendation.

First of all: Before starting this project, I have intensively dealt with the topic of guitar building, especially kit modding, and compared various kits with the help of different forums and groups. The biggest advantage that the Rocktile kits offer: The wood is not prefinished. There is no wood filler or anything else that could interfere with staining. Accordingly, you get what appears to be the optimal foundation for the price.
Briefly about the kit:
Pros:
-The wood makes a good impression, especially the veneer on the top side has a really nice mastering; furthermore, you hardly have to sand anything.
-The binding runs clean and has no flaws
-The frets are all okay in terms of height, only the edge of the fretboard could use a file again
-The electronics are mostly pre-wired and easy to install
-The sound is okay
Cons:
-Around the binding there are glue residues from time to time, which have to be sanded out first
-The neck pocket doesn't fit 100% to the neck; with a glued neck this would be quite problematic, but since this is a screw neck it's not that bad; still a nuisance.
-The original strings are really not that good, you should order new ones right away.

All in all I'm very happy with the finished guitar; A lemonburst could be stained in without any problems and for the future the project will be continued.

The veneer on the top is very thin. It blisters when stained and is not very nice to look at after painting. Not much sanding can be done as you quickly sand through the veneer.
Sometimes glue has penetrated the wood at the binding. Here the stain is badly accepted.
The potentiometer axles are too long, so the knobs are quite far above the top.
It is best to replace the strings that came with the guitar.
To get an understanding of guitar building and the connections the kit is recommendable.
Sound is o.k. for the cheap pickups. However, these hum despite grounding.

have decided after long consideration for this kit. Since there is a great video tutorial. Therefore a star. The kit was after ordering the next day there. The big scare I got after opening the kit. The truss rod fell out immediately. Thus no more adjusting of the neck curvature possible! The holes for the rear machine heads were pre-drilled, and that crooked and crooked that an alignment of the strings is no longer possible. About the electrics... the pre-soldering wasn't exactly the goods either, when I touched it I immediately had the cables in my hand. The 3-way switch was a different one than described, so the wiring diagram is very demanding for someone who has never had anything to do with electrics! Too bad that I had to make such an experience, for just under 180 € you can expect more today!
The wood was very well prepared. I didn't have to sand much except for the glue residue. The grain on the body top and back is very nice. The neck as well. The fit without rework in the cutout on the body.

I bought the kit over a year ago, but unfortunately only get around to writing a review today.

At the beginning was the desire to simply want to build something out of wood. I hadn't thought of a guitar at all, since I couldn't play at all...but I always wanted to learn, so my approach was "what could go wrong at that price?". Worst case = firewood. Probable Case = Looks good, but doesn't sound good. Best Case = Looks good, sounds good too!"

I chose the Kirstein kit because it seemed to be slightly closer to the LP prototype than the competition.
The first kit went back: neck unequal in height...maybe not a problem for builders with experience, but I didn't want to start with such basic errors. The second delivery looked good. So off we went...

Since I wanted to stain the body and neck in a sunburst, the first thing to do was sand so that no more glue residue interfered. For the stain I used products from the hardware store. First, the body was stained dark and then sanded again, several times.

And wonder of wonders, the originally light and very uniform wood suddenly had a great grain that I didn't expect at first. I won't get into the usual steps of "stain - sand - fill". Just a note: At the toggle switch, the top was so thin that I had waves in the wood at some point during wet staining.

Since I really liked the stained sunburst, I tried to continue at a high level and built up the entire guitar with nitro lacquer. If you put in the effort, you can get a lot out of even a kit. The Kirstein kit provides the right basis for this in any case!

With the successful optics came then however also the decision to exchange the hardware nearly completely. For example, impact sleeves and screws had too much play, the bridge was chrome-plated quite simply and the bridge was tarnished. Instead of the actual parts, I ended up using parts from Schaller or Gotoh, for example, and replaced the PUs and electronics.

In the end, the original 100 € have certainly become more like 400 €. For this I certainly get a good brand instrument...but not one that I have built...

In the meantime, the finished instrument was adjusted and played by my guitar teacher (I started after all!). Obviously I did everything right (by accident) or Kirstein delivers a kit that is almost "fool proof" with a little skill and effort. In any case, I am totally happy with MY guitar.

I would buy such a kit again anytime. I would also put in the same effort again.

For those who find this too expensive, they may be better off with a finished instrument in the end. Who wants to replace everything anyway, possibly reaches for more expensive body-neck combinations from other suppliers.

In my opinion, the kit is top for the price.
Delivery went quickly (despite Weihnachtsgeschaft ...).
Have the guitar still completed with a Bigsby 70 and a Rollerbrigde.
After the correct adjustment of the scale length, this guitar is even fret clean.
Possibly I will try other humbuckers to further enhance the sound of this guitar.

What helped a lot in the construction are the videos about this on some platforms on the net, and yes, you should already have some craftsmanship/knowledge in terms of varnishing and woodwork!!!!

I bought the LP kit.

The kit is quite neatly finished, here and there you have to rework a bit, but on the whole nothing wild and the price accordingly.

The neck is also well made, only around the frets and file you can not get around (Can of course also be my subjective perception, I like to play with flat frets and correspondingly flat string position).

A clear minus is the hardware, but you should not expect anything too high quality for the price.

I have to give a big minus to the pre-wiring of the pots. I don't know what they tried to solder together, it didn't work at all. I desoldered everything and rebuilt the circuit. This brings us to the next minus, the "manual", or the "circuit diagram" for the electronics.

If I were not from the subject, or if I had no sound knowledge of electrical engineering, I would have failed here. Here it would possibly be advantageous for laymen a better and especially colored Aleitung to wire, or a proper, colored wiring diagram to attach, or offer for download.

My conclusion:

Good kit that, with some craftsmanship, will also succeed ;-)

As I said, you have to cut back on the hardware, but if you build a kit like this, you won't have any problems replacing individual components afterwards ;-)

I have a crucial point to criticize the one must not deliver so!
The adjustability of the truss rod is severely limited, because the head of the Allen nut was ground off almost half!!!
If you want to tighten the neck after stringing, the nut can break and the neck becomes unusable!
Furthermore, the holes for the cable to the jack socket and from the pickup housing to the impact sleeve of the bridge attachment are missing!
The switch for pickup switching is much too close to the volume control 1 !
I have with trouble and distress the guitar together but can not recommend these kits!
Since I rather 450, - € in addition and buy an Epiphone FV!

...so it can happen that one relies blindly on the kit and pushes the neck foot into the base of the neck pocket and glues in the neck without first making sure of the exact scale length. Then the neck PU does not fit into the mortise any more. So you have to loosen the glueing again (if this is possible at all) and measure again! Only the instructions for screw necks are included in the kit! The quality of the materials used in the kit I would already describe as good and quite usable.

Quality mixed. Body and neck are great (the most important thing). Machine heads are cheap. Wiring errors in the electronics.
You need a little knowledge of guitar building in addition to some craftsmanship.
But if you enjoy it, the kit is just right and you end up with a beautiful piece in your hands. String action and intonation I managed flawlessly (even if I had to build up the saddle with superglue and soda).
Conclusion: great for hobbyists. Components buy individually comes much more expensive.

Excellent quality at a good price. Complete kit with everything to make your own guitar.

Finished my first electric guitar two days ago with this kit from Rocktile. A beautiful experience! I really enjoyed working with wood, sanding, staining, painting, varnishing. By assembling a guitar you now have more understanding, and know a little about the inner workings of an electric guitar!
The neck was amazingly cleanly finished. Didn't have much adjustment work at all either, as the guitar was fret clean very soon! The description of the soldering work to be done was rather very poor.
Have these done by an electrician, and even he has not immediately had the view.
The guitar is tunable. The pre-milled holes for mounting the mechanics at the headstock are inaccurate, especially since the G-string at the mechanics of the B-string literally grazes!
The potentiometers are rather weak. I will change them. I have already replaced the pickups!
Building your own personal creative guitar is exciting. I like playing it too, but all the electronics are very weak! But for this price you can't ask for more.
A tip for the music store Kirstein. You should also immediately offer a shielding color to it, because you absolutely need it.

The holes and parts fit very accurately.
Unfortunately, the wood is heavily impregnated, so varnishing with oil or shellac is only tricky and possible with multiple sanding of the whole guitar. The boards on the back run diagonally to the guitar axis, which doesn't look so nice with transparent varnish. The number of screws and washers was saved. The fingerboard is made of very thin rosewood veneer, hence the plastic binding on the edge, the surface has numerous thin longitudinal grooves that cannot be sanded without re-fretting.
However, if you are very very patient when sanding the neck and body, you get a playable instrument.

Bohrungen fuer die Bruecke sind schief, d.h. Bruecke sitzt leicht verdreht. Damit wandert die hohe e-Saite fast vom Griffbrett.

Hals ist schief, um das Schnarren der Saiten zu minimieren, musste ich den Hals unterlegen, damit liegen die Saiten in den oberen Lagen zu hoch.

Gitarre ist nicht bundrein, Bundeinteilung falsch.

Wenn ich die Oktave richtig einstelle (Bundreinheit Leersaite/12. Bund), ist die Gitarre ab dem 3. Bund "verstimmt".

Alles in allem ein teurer "Wandschmuck".

The "+" of this kit are numerous.
- the shape of the body is identical to that of an LP, especially on the upper curve of the body skin, which is not the case with many competitors.
- the woods are honest. Beautiful table that renders very well the effects of sunburst shades with nice groove patterns.
- Overall the wood finish is correct with few appearance defects.
- The top of the head can be reworked what I did and it gives a nice look.
- The electronics are cheap but it works well with a good mention for the microphones. I might upgrade it but it's not ridiculous original !
- Same for the mechanics, it's mid-range but it does the job.
So the "-" what are they ?
- The body being in several parts, we can find contrasts of wood-ribbonings more or less pleasant... it's a bit like a lottery : Normal considering the price.
- Well profiled the handle is however in two parts (head and bottom and oval junction in the first quarter going upwards). You can see it no matter what the colour and you won't make it look like a Gibson even with a super finish....
- A few details are a bit annoying: Pickguard adjustment not precise enough in relation to the shape of the body (on the part close to the neck), height of the pot rods too high, precision of the front fixing holes of the mechanics, but.... nothing really serious.
In conclusion it is an excellent product for the price which, if you apply yourself, leads to an honest instrument whose look can be very nice.
Personally I opted for a yellow-brown sunburst icetea (standard LP 1960) true oil finish (12 coats) and frankly... it does it!

Who has some craftsmanship, likes to tinker and would like to have a (new) guitar, for such a kit is really a great thing. I was busy with it for about a week, but mainly because of the treatment of the wood. The screwing together and soldering I have finished in one evening.

The sound of the guitar is okay. It's logical that you can't get a Gibson Les Paul Custom for less than 100€. With a pair of higher quality humbuckers you could get a lot out of the guitar. But I doubt that it is really worth spending more money on it than on the kit.

The neck is quite well made. The notches on the saddle I had to make a little deeper, but that's part of it.

The kit was flawless, holes already pre-drilled. Strings, guitar cable and
Allen wrench for the guitar neck included. Instrument sounds good and can be

The first look at the kit was not very scary at first. 2-3 points were not OK. The top on the neck humbucker was not glued cleanly and the pocket for the neck was milled out wavy. The bindings were glued on wavy in places and the worker left plenty of fingerprints in the fresh glue.

The real problem with the neckline was somewhere else, which I unfortunately only noticed after gluing the neck.
Because the milling was so poorly executed, the angle of the neck is unfortunately not correct.

With the bridge in the lowest position, I have a string spacing of 4.5mm at the 12th fret.
This is a kit that is relatively inexpensive, but since it is cnc milled parts should not happen.
It is my 2nd kit from Rocktile and the 1st was great.
Since I already have the kit completely ready and have invested a lot of time, and thus an exchange is probably excluded. I advise everyone to check the Halz angle beforehand.
Mine is unfortunately only suitable as decoration and it was definitely my last kit from Rocktile. What I find very unfortunate.

I am very happy with the kit, only it seems that I bought it a bit too early.
I paid on 25-10-2022, €125,00 for a guitar that now, on 11-11-2022, costs only €100,00.
I find this €25.00 price reduction in this short time a bit bizarre.

This is the second ROCKTILE kit guitar I buy, a Strat first and this Single Cut.
Fast delivery, well packaged and satisfactory quality. Well it's still first price material but it allows you to have fun making your own guitar.

The info states its "Body: paulownia", yes, the body (the back is), the front is cheap plywood. Also the info could tell that the plywood top is binded with plain cream binding around the body.
The plywood is really sad since the ALL paulownia body and top would have had a much better tone and sound, also the woodgrain would have been much nicer than the flat and grainless plywood.

Also the holes drilled for the neck attachment is not even near the holes in the screwplate, so be prepared to fill in the holes in the body and neck and drill new ones... sad :(

Well, very happy about the wood quality & grain, and the neck and body fit together impeccably. Am going to replace pickups etc. anyway so not going to comment on those.

Fretwork is pretty decent, required only a little leveling and a recrown - remains to be seen how long they will last, but they look good. They were not polished, but that hardly matters because you'll give 'em a light level and polish anyway.

The fretboard is the only strange thing, it's a little lopsided towards the bass side, which shouldn't matter probably, but I haven't done the final assembly and such yet, only tested that it works. In reality it means there will be a little more string clearance for lower strings, but they do require more...so it's a weird little detail.

It's not my first guitar kit, and you should have no illusion that this kit can create a really high quality guitar. But, it is a lot of fun to build such an instrument. And with a little experience and effort you can build a great guitar like in this case. I sprayed the body in red / yellow transparent (Cherry Sunburst) with the airbrush and painted it with about 5 layers of clear varnish. The neck itself was only oiled. The neck needed a 1 mm shimming plate to get a good string action. It is really straight. The frets themselves were cleanly rounded and only needed to be deburred on the outside. The saddle notches need to be filed a little deeper. The action is now at about 2 mm...very low, but nothing rattles.
The guitar is fretless. The enclosed strings I have immediately exchanged for .010 Elexier

The only bad part is the jack. The spring action wears off quickly after repeated plugging and had to be re-bent. Here you can get a better quality for the same price. I will still exchange them

The two humbuckers are according to the price, possibly I will exchange them against more expensive ones. They sound but not completely bad, a little muddy maybe.

This LP replica makes me a lot of fun and is now often used next to my originals. In addition, it also looks great.

I didn't find the instructions very helpful, could be more detailed, you still had to get a lot of information from the internet.
The wooden parts were well made. The frame of one pickup was broken but it still worked.
No parts were missing. After assembly, it can be played without any problems.

Very good price, fast delivery and looks good, I recommend it!

Electric guitar to tinker with yourself, I think good.
Wood is well made, parts are all in order.
With the kit you have the possibility to realize your own idea.
Explanation of how pickups should be soldered together is enough, but a scheme
would be better.
I am satisfied!

The item arrived well packaged and safe. Not was damaged, or warped.

One hole was insignificantly drilled in the wrong place, but that was not an issue for me.
