The great similarity of the Pronomic CM-22 large diaphragm microphone to my favorite up to that point, the Rode NTV-A1 prompted me to get more information. A video with a direct comparison of the two made me sit up and take notice, literally.

In the test, the Pronomic sounded freer, more open, almost more transparent than the Rode NTV-A1, which sounded so compact that I thought about processing it with a compressor. For hours I would not want to listen to the sound of the Rode. But the Pronomic CM-22 sounds much freer and more natural, even if somewhat "colored".

A Lewitt LCT 140 AIR serves as a direct comparison to the CM-22.
The Lewitt reproduces the acoustic guitar very naturally, but also sensitively, each tone is unadulterated. The correct position for recording (distance 30 cm, 12 fret aimed), is almost like a directional microphone.

With the CM-22, I particularly like this beautiful, free "room sound". It also forgives playing errors better, which the Lewitt reveals unaltered. The gain setting can be set higher on the CM-22.

As a sonically very interesting variation for the recording of acoustic instruments and with regard to the price, the CM-22 is a successful, convincing buy recommendation. I personally find the lightness in the recordings and the spatial imaging very good.

A praise still to the Kirstein team:
Shortly after my order, the Pronomic CM-22 was lowered in price. A short notice on my part was enough, and I already had the refund on my account! That is very customer-friendly!

This microphone was recommended to me personally and I can only recommend it to everyone myself. I use the microphone in my own small studio overhead and it picks up everything flawlessly, even when sitting almost directly underneath it.

Hi from Saxony I use the CM - 11 / CM - 22 although only for radios (limited frequency range) but the microphones are not to top for the price! Whereby the CM - 22 suits me still a tad better. Unfortunately, it has no built-in low-cut switch like the CM - 11 but the "bass" / lower frequencies (100 Hz) are not exaggerated to hear!
